Pond, a junior from Chesterfield, Va., helped Lynchburg finished tied for first in the ODAC standings with Randolph-Macon after picking up a 12-1 win over Bridgewater on Sunday. Pond worked the first seven innings and did not allow a run. He scattered seven hits and walked one while striking out four batters. The win, which was part of a sweep of the Eagles, keeps the Hornets in the running for the ODAC's top seed in the upcoming conference tournament. For the season, Pond is 6-3 in 11 appearances, all starts. He has fanned 72 batters and allowed 19 earned runs over 69.0 innings of work. He owns a 2.48 ERA and boasts a .217 opponent's batting average.
