Pawlowski enjoyed his third straight game without an interception as he set career-highs with 354 yards and four touchdowns on 24-of-37 passing. He fired a 65-yard touchdown pass on the game's first play to Adam Smith, and the duo connected on the game-winning score with 2:02 to play in regulation to put Guilford ahead 38-35. He threw a pair of fourth quarter touchdown passes as GC scored the game's final 17 points to overcome a 35-21 deficit. His other two scoring passes covered 22 and seven yards. Ellis spearheaded a defensive unit that gave up a pair of touchdowns in the first 30 minutes, but pitched a shutout in the second half. He made 10 tackles on the day, including 1.5 for a loss. In the second quarter, he helped setup the first of three field goals by Matt Turchin as he recovered a muffed punt deep in Catholic territory. His biggest play came with E&H trailing 14-12 with less than four minutes to play. Ellis intercepted his first pass of the season to return possession to the Wasps and set up the game-winning drive, which concluded in a field goal with 10-seconds to play. For the year, Ellis is sixth in the ODAC with 62 tackles.

Team News and Notes

BRIDGEWATER held visiting Washington and Lee to its lowest points total since the 2010 season and forced four turnovers, including an interception return for a score late in the fourth quarter to secure a 31-14 upset victory over the Generals on Saturday afternoon at Jopson Field. The Eagles never trailed in the contest. Bridgewater controlled the clock in the first quarter, but only came away with three points over the game’s first 15 minutes, despite holding the ball for 12 minutes in the opening frame. Bridgewater used a big play in the second quarter when junior Willie Logan connected with John Lezcano and Lezcano ran 85 yards to paydirt to put Bridgewater up 10-0 at the break. The Eagles got another big play touchdown when tight end Michael Colee caught a Logan pass and broke to the endzone from 66 yards out. Anthony Moton, II, put the final touches on the victory late in the fourth quarter when he intercepted a Nick Lombardo pass at the Bridgewater 45 and sprinted 55 yards to the W&L endzone to finalize the scoring at a 31-14 gap.  Logan finished the day 21-of-26 for 280 yards and three touchdowns with just one INT.  He also ran for 42 yards on 12 carries.  Sammy Coleman led the Bridgewater defense with a career-high 15 tackles.  Daniel Brent joined Moton with an interception, while Danny Grogg and Mitchell Parks recovered fumbles. The win for Bridgewater snapped a two-game winning streak for the Generals in the series and handed Washington and Lee its first loss of the conference season.

NEXT WEEK: vs. Emory & Henry (4-3, 1-3 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Bridgewater and Emory & Henry will be meeting for the 39th on Saturday, continuing a series that began in the 1920 season.  The Wasps own a 27-10-1 advantage in the all-time series, but the Eagles have won four the last five meetings, including each of the past three matchups.  E&H's last win in the series came in 2008 when the Wasps made the trip north up I-81 and recorded a 19-14 victory.  Last season, Bridgewater scored 21 unanswered points to erase a 14-6 second quarter deficit on the way to a 27-14 win in Emory.  Eagles' running back Anthony Carter churned out 133 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.  E&H's offense was held under 300 total yards with Kyle Boden throwing for 209 yards and a touchdown to Adrian Jordan.

CATHOLIC scored 14 points in the first half against Emory & Henry, but was unable to add to its total after that in a 15-14 loss in Emory. The Cardinals finished with 367 yards of offense (117 rushing, 251 passing), receiving 80 yards on the ground and their two scores from Mike Pitsenberger. Greg Cordivari completed 24-of-35 passes for 251 yards, but threw a costly interception late in the game. Christian Baker hauled in seven receptions for 35 yards. CUA was inside the E&H 10-yard line twice in the third quarter, but was unable to come away with points either time. Defensively, Conor Stueckler led the defense again with 12 stops, while Andrew Pitsenberger, Alex King and Kevin Ross finished with eight tackles apiece. CUA held the Wasps to a 7-of-17 showing on third down and 0-for-1 on fourth down.

NEXT WEEK: vs. Washington and Lee (5-2, 3-1 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Washington and Lee and Catholic will be meeting for the 17th time on Saturday with the Generals holding a 13-3 advantage in the all-time series that began during the 1981 season.  W&L has won three-straight in the series, including a 49-13 win last season in Lexington.  W&L has averaged 467.5 yards per game over the last two outings against the Cardinals, outscoring CUA by a combined score of 98-27 over that span.  Last season, six different Generals rushed for 50 or more yards and four players scored a rushing touchdown as W&L rolled to the win.  Andrew Oullette led the Cardinals with six catches for 207 yards and one touchdown in the game.

EMORY & HENRY put an end to a three-game losing streak against Catholic as the Wasps defense pitched a second-half shutout and the offense posted 12 fourth-quarter points to pull out a 15-14 win in Emory on Saturday.  CUA led 14-0 before Matt Turchin hit the first of his three field goals three minutes before halftime.  After a scoreless third quarter, Turchin added a 38-yard boot midway through the final frame.  Two big stops by the E&H defense sandwiched an 11-yard TD pass from Kyle Boden to Lucas Kirby, setting up the Wasps' final drive.  Turchin made good on a 22-yard field goal with 10-seconds to play to post the winning margin.  Joe Vaughn led the E&H offense with 116 all-purpose yards (71 rushing, 45 receiving).  Devan Sproles led the defense with 12 tackles, while Ross Ellis and Rennell Marshall had 10 stops each.  Ellis was in on a pair of turnovers as he recovered a fumble and intercepted his first pass of the season, both of which led to E&H field goals.  His interception stopped CUA's final drive and returned possession to E&H, which resulted in the game-deciding field goal from Turchin.

NEXT WEEK: at Bridgewater (5-2, 2-2 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.

He made eight tackles, including two sacks, which matched his career high. He ranked fifth in NCAA Division III with 13 tackles per game through games of Oct. 13.  Guilford's four wins this year mark the team's most since 2008.  The Quakers' three-game winning streak is its longest since 2007.  The team's 3-1 league mark is Guilford's best four-game ODAC record since 1998.  Guilford's win at Randolph-Macon was its first over the Yellow Jackets in Ashland since 2006.

NEXT WEEK: at Shenandoah (1-6, 0-4 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.

Randolph-Macon and Shenandoah will be meeting for the first time on Saturday as both squads look to return to the win column.  The Yellow Jackets won four of their first five games, but have dropped each of the last two contests, both against league opponents.  The Hornets open a head-to-head series against an ODAC team for the third time this season.  After opening the season with a win over Stevenson, SU has dropped six straight, including each of its first four ODAC contests since joining the conference in July.

SHENANDOAH owned an early 7-0 lead and came back to tie the score 14-all in the third quarter, but Hampden-Sydney outscored the Hornets 28-7 over the final 24 minutes of the game to post a 42-21 win in Winchester.  The loss marks the sixth straigh for SU since winning the season opener at Stevenson.  Turnovers hurt the Hornets as a pair of interceptions and a fumble all led to H-SC touchdowns.  All three of SU's touchdowns came via the ground game as Corey Taylor, Andrew Smith and Paul Athey each toted the ball for six points.  David Bell led the receiving corps with 81 yards on just two receptions, highlighted by a 54-yard catch.  Defensively, Jajuan Johnson posted a game-high 16 tackles, including five solo stops.  Byron Mitchell and Michael Messick both came away with the interceptions, the first of the year for both Hornets.
