Solak made four plays in the Hornets backfield as he racked up eight total tackles on the day, tied for the team-high with Danny Hunt. He cost SU 20 yards of offense on 3.0 tackles for a loss. Included in that total was an ODAC weekly-high 2.5 sacks for a loss of 19 yards. Team News and Notes

BRIDGEWATER put up 14 points in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead into the break against Emory & Henry, and then added 13 more tallies in the second half to stave away the Wasps' comeback attempt for a 27-21 in Bridgewater.  Quarterback Willie Logan threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 34 yards and another score.  Ryan Green Ellis was the Eagles' leading rusher with 64 yards and touchdown.  Defensively, Joel Francis made only four stops, but two of them went for quarterback sacks, including a play that led to a BC blocked punt by Jayme Perry.  Salem Nganga led the unit with 14 tackles.  Danny Grogg recorded a sack and blocked a Wasps' field goal attempt.

NEXT WEEK: at Randolph-Macon (5-3, 3-2 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Randolph-Macon and Bridgewater will be meeting for the 73rd time on Saturday afternoon in Ashland.    R-MC holds a 54-15-3 overall lead in a series that dates back to 1926.   After dropping eight consecutive games to the Eagles from 1999-2006, R-MC has won four of the last five meetings between the two programs.  Last season,  Thaddeus Scruggs ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns to lead Randolph-Macon to a 51-36 ODAC road victory over BC.  Quarterback Zac Naccarato finished the day 10-of-15 passing for 153 yards.  Drake Sanders complimented Scruggs' effort with 94 yards via the ground as well. Carlos Gonzalez's 406-yard effort was the most for a Bridgewater quarterback in school history, surpassing Brandon Wakefield's 378-yard performance against Emory & Henry in 2004. Bridgewater's 469 total passing yards is the second highest total in program history, right behind the Eagles' 478-yard output in 2001 against Catholic.

CATHOLIC linebacker Conor Stueckler registered a career-high 19 tackles in Saturday's contest vs. Washington & Lee. Mark D'Annibale added 12 stops, while Timbo McGarry picked off a pair of passes. Offensively, Mike Pitsenberger scored one of CUA's two touchdowns, while Alonzo Cooke scored the other and finished with eight receptions for 108 yards. The Cardinals collected 19 first downs on the day, but only 268 yards of total offense. Penalties and the resulting yardage put a dent in the both team's offenses as CUA and W&L combined for 17 infractions that cost them 348 yards.

NEXT WEEK: at Guilford (4-4, 3-2 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Guilford and Catholic tangle in Greensboro in the 14th rendition of what has been a very entertaining series. The Cardinals won four of the first five meetings between the two schools before the Quakers reeled off four straight wins from 2004-07. Since that time, the teams have alternated victories with the road team winning six of the last seven games. The Quakers lead the series, 7-6. Zac Halbert's six-yard touchdown pass to Rob Fields with 32 seconds left in regulation lifted the visiting Quakers to a 34-27 win over the Cardinals in last year's meeting. The Quakers erased a 20-6 second-quarter deficit to post their first league win under Chris Rusiewicz. Halbert paced Guilford's offense with 274 passing yards and two touchdowns. Ben King made 13 grabs for 200 yards. Aaron McNeely added 100 rushing yards on 24 carries. Greg Cordivari passed for 373 yards and three scores for the Cardinals. Wesley Stringfield had nine catches for 119 yards and a touchdown.

EMORY & HENRY trailed 14-0 at the half at Bridgewater, but put up 21 points in the second half as the Wasps worked themselves back into the contest.  BC ended up posting a 27-21 win.  E&H managed just 22 yards rushing, but quarterback Kyle Boden completed 30-of-42 passes for 300 yards and a pair of scores to lead the offense.  He also rushed for at touchdown.  Chad Williams and Sam Edmonds caught TD passes from the junior signal-caller.  Defensively, Devan Sproles led the way with a team-best 13 tackles, including 1.0 tackles for a loss.  Ross Ellis had the Wasps only sack of the day as part of a seven-tackle showing.  Paul Forney forced a fumble that was recovered by Tyler Houk.

NEXT WEEK: vs. Shenandoah (1-7, 0-5 ODAC) - 1:00 p.m.
Shenandoah and Emory & Henry will be meeting for the first time on Saturday in Emory.  This marks the third brand new opponent for the Hornets since becoming a full-time ODAC member during the summer.  Shenandoah is looking to win its first game since a season-opening 26-16 triumph over Stevenson.  The Hornets are also looking for their first victory in ODAC league play.  Emory & Henry looks to get back into the win column after seeing its comeback effort fall short at Bridgewater last weekend.  After winning their first three contests of the season, the Wasps have dropped four the of the past five games.  Three of those losses have come on the road.

GUILFORD's three-game winning streak, the club's best since 2007, came to an end in the Quakers' loss to Hampden-Sydney. Matt Pawlowski's streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass ended at seven, although he did rush for two scores, a career best. He also threw his first interception in four games on a hail-Mary pass at the end of the first half. Saturday's loss also ended the Quakers' four-game road winning streak, which dated to last season. Pawlowski has moved into seventh place on Guilford's single-season pass completions (164) and passing yardage (1919) lists. His 2,032 total offensive yards this year ranks ninth at Guilford.  Receiver Adam Smith made seven catches for 108 yards, his third game of the year with 100 receiving yards. Tyler Hunt kicked a career-long 39-yard field goal at Hampden-Sydney, his sixth of the season. The last Quakers' kicker with that many field goals in a season was Brad Scott (10) in 2009.  Defensive back Satiir Stevenson made a game-high 13 tackles (6 solo) in Guilford's loss at Hampden-Sydney, with one of his tackles coming from behind the line of scrimmage.  His seven assisted tackles represent a season high. Robert Smith made 10 tackles at Hampden-Sydney, his seventh game this year with 10 or more tackles. He entered the weekend ranked 10th nationally in tackles and tackles for loss per game. Smith's team-high 96 tackles this season stand 12th all-time at Guilford.
