Big performances dotted the box scores throughout week seven as one team took over sole ownership of the top position in the ODAC standings.  Hampden-Sydney College moved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in league play to move a game ahead of three others in the league table.  Guilford College, Shenandoah University, and Washington and Lee University also posted wins on Saturday afternoon.

H-SC's triumph came in a matchup against previously undefeated Emory & Henry College, with the Tigers coming away with a 49-27 home win.  After its first hiccup of the season last week, Guilford got back in the win column with a 35-28 home victory over Bridgewater College.  Shenandoah University won for second straight week with a 24-14 decision at Catholic University.  Washington and Lee University broke a seven-game skid with its first win of the season in a 28-25 nail-biter over Randolph-Macon College in Lexington.

Hampden-Sydney wide receiver Holton Walker (pictured) and Washington and Lee linebacker John Carrick earned the ODAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards.  Walker reset his own school record with 275 yards receiving, the third-best mark in ODAC history.  He caught 10 passes overall with three touchdowns, scoring on plays that covered 75, 30 and 43 yards, sequentially. Carrick helped the Generals to their first win of the season with five tackles and a pair of fourth quarter interceptions -- one that setup the difference-making score and the other to effectively end the contest inside the W&L 20-yard line.

Four more conference games are slated for next Saturday afternoon.  Catholic makes its way to Emory & Henry, while Hampden-Sydney heads to Shenandoah and Guilford travels to Randolph-Macon.  Each of those contests are slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.  Bridgewater welcomes Washington and Lee to Jopson Field for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
