Bell, a sophomore from Jackson, Ga., posted his fourth straight 100-yard rushing game to help the Quakers to a 23-20 victory at Bridgewater. Bell got the fireworks started early as he returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, setting a new school-record in the process. It's the second straight week he's gone the distance on a kickoff, adding to last week's 93-yard effort. He finished the day with 126 yards on two kickoff returns, with four more coming from punt returns and 20 via two receptions. The remained of his 254 all-purpose came on the ground as he carried the ball 21 times for 104 yards and a second touchdown, which covered a season-long 42 yards. Bell is currently third in the ODAC with 595 yards rushing and 99.2 yards per game via the ground. His 1,431 all-purpose yards are 524 more than the next closest ODAC player.

Michael Messick| Shenandoah| Sr.| Linebacker
Messick, a senior from Mechanicsville, Md., was all over the field in the Hornets' 34-17 triumph over Catholic on Saturday. Messick set a new Shenandoah record with 24 total tackles against the Cardinals, including 13 solo stops. The 24 tackles are the most recorded by an ODAC player since the 2006 season and two more than former Guilford defensive back Satiir Stevenson recorded last season. Messick also recovered a fumble, one of four turnovers registered by the SU defense. He also had 1.5 tackles for a loss, including his first full sack of the season. Messick currently leads the ODAC in overall takcles (84), solo tackles (44) and assisted stops (40). He's averaging a league-best 14.0 tackles per contest.
BRIDGEWATER saw its comeback efforts fall short in a 23-20 loss to Guilford. The Eagles never trailed by more than 10 points and twice pulled to within three after trailing 7-6 after a second quarter touchdown run by Kevon White, the first of his two scores on the day. Quarterback Ross Rushing threw for 171 yards and a touchdown to Keith Jennings. Rushing also ran for a team-best 50 yards. Jeffrey Moore led BC receivers with six catches and 82 yards. Defensively, the Eagles held Guilford to 353 yards and 17 points from scrimmage (one TD was via kickoff return), helping BC to a slight edge in time of possession (30:36-to-29:24). Danile Brent led the unit with nine tackles. Logan Whitaker had six tackles, a TFL, two pass breakups and three quarterback hurries.

The Eagles held the W&L offense to just 201 total yards while registered a pair of interceptions. Walker registered the Generals lone touchdown.

Tutone threw for 311 yards and two touchdowns, one each to Lucas Morley and Matt McMahon. Morley, the ODAC's leader in receptions, hauled in 13 passes for 119 yards. He now has 59 catches on the season. Matt Perno ran for 103 yards on 19 carries, marking his second 100-yard rushing day of the season. Defensively, Richard Roach, Luke Kern and Ross Sanford registered eight tackles. Roach intercepted a pass and returned it 65 yards, while Sanford recorded four tackles for a loss including a sack and intercepted a pass. Matt Christensen pulled in the Cardinals third interception of the day.

The Wasps’ defense forced a trio of turnovers in the form of three interceptions, but allowed 460 yards through the air and two touchdowns … Rennel Marshall led all players with 15 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, while Ryan Byrd made 10 stops and returned an interception 32 yards and broke up another pass … Rasheen Williams and Nashiem Ausar each had interceptions in the game while Mitch Carter had six tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and broke up a pair of passes at the line, both of which were nearly intercepted by the lineman.

Matt Pawlowski needs three touchdowns and 41 passing yards to become the second quarterback in ODAC history to throw for 100 touchdowns and 10,000 yards in his career. Guilford's Josh Vogelbach '09 is the only player in league history to reach both milestones... Adam Smith made seven receptions at Bridgewater, which moved him into second place among Guilford's career catches leaders with 204. Former offensive coordinator Chris Barnette '08 holds the career receptions record with 266, which is fourth in ODAC history. The Quakers' defense had a season-high three takeaways, two in the red zone... Tyriek Able picked off his team-leading second pass of the year in Guilford's end zone. Both of his picks have come in Guilford's end zone... Able also forced a fumble and matched his career high with eight tackles... Robert Smith registered a game-high 13 tackles for Guilford, his 15th career contest with 10 or more stops.

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY overcame an early 21-0 deficit to score a touchdown on four straight possessions en route to a 31-28 victory over Emory & Henry. Freshman kicker Liam Hedge kicked the game-winning 22-yard field goal with five seconds remaining in the game. Junior quarterback Edgar Moore was hampered by three early interceptions, but finished the day with an impressive 460 yards and two touchdowns on 36-of-54 accuracy. The team tallied 548 yards of total offense. Cam Johnson and Austin Perryman each had big days, with Johnson catching 11 passes for 158 yards and Perryman going for 101 yards on eight receptions. Michael Mey and Mel Savarese each had a touchdown reception with a combined 10 catches for 126 yards. Kyree Koonce again led the rushing attack with 66 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. Defensively, the Tigers surrendered 412 yards on 267 passing and 145 rushing. Nick Martin and Sidney Henry each tallied a team-high six tackles. Ben Carson, Ryan Mallory, and Jay Brooks all registered five stops. As a unit, the Tigers recorded 4.0 tackles-for-loss and broke up five passes.

Christian Redman registered his second straight 100-yard receiving day with seven catches for an even 100 yards. John Byrd led with 83 yards rushing on 16 carries. Miles Green and Dalaun Richardson also caught touchdown passes. Quarterback Hayden Bauserman threw two of those scores despite three interceptions, while Travis Barton had the other TD pass. WASHINGTON AND LEEmoved to 6-0 on the season with a 21-17 win over Randolph-Macon. The Generals have started a season with six wins only five times in 123 seasons of football. The win was also the 499th in the program’s history. The Generals are 499-521-30 overall. W&L did not turn the ball over against Randolph-Macon, the first game without a turnover since a 49-14 win over the Yellow Jackets during the 2012 season. The Generals forced three turnovers and now have a +2 turnover ratio on the season. Junior running backs Marshall Hollerith (121) and Connor Chess (105) both went over 100 yards rushing against the Yellow Jackets. That marked the first time that W&L had more than one player with 100 yards rushing since Jimmy Dugan and Hollerith both went over 100 in the 2014 season finale against Shenandoah. With his 121-yard effort, Hollerith moved into eighth-place on the school’s all-time rushing list with 2,276 career yards. He can overtake Charlie Westfal ’12 for seventh-place with two more yards. He also moved into a tie for fourth-place in career rushing touchdowns with his 28th TD. He is tied with Stuart Sitterson ’09. Defensively, the Generals intercepted Randolph-Macon three times, including two by Thomas Freeland, to help keep W&L within striking distance before the offense found its footing. Max Garrett led the unit with seven tackles, while John Carrick had two tackles for a loss including a sack. Michael Shields had the Generals' third interception.
