Pawlowski, a senior from Greensboro, N.C., put together his second 400-yard passing game of the season in the Quakers 41-30 win over Emory & Henry. Pawlowski completed a season-best 76.6-percent (36-of-47) of his passes for 411 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. He was especially potent in the second half, leading Guilford back from a 23-13 deficit and directing the offense to scores on four straight possessions. He was 17-of-20 for 278 yards and three touchdowns in the final two frames. His touchdown plays went for 20, 27, 39 and 18 yards. He has now thrown for an ODAC-best 39 touchdowns this season, three off the conference record (J.D. Ricca, H-SC, 2005). He is also now seventh in NCAA Division III history with 116 touchdown passes, eight short of the ODAC record (Josh Vogelbach, GC, 2005-08). Pawlowski currently leads the ODAC in passing yards (3,333) and yards per game (333.3) in addition to touchdown passes.

Hill, a freshman from Roanoke, Va., helped spearhead the Yellow Jacket's "bend-but-snap-back" defensive performance in Randolph-Macon's 14-9 victory over Hampden-Sydney in the 120th edition of "The Game." R-MC surrendered 339 yards of offense, but also forced four turnovers on two interceptions and a pair of fumbles. It was Hill that came up with both of those interceptions, with each directly scoring or preventing points. He picked off his first pass in the opening frame, returning it 31-yards for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead. His second INT came in the third quarter when he stopped a Tigers' scoring drive in the end zone. Hill broke up two other passes in the game and registered a pair of tackles, including a quarterback sack. The interceptions brought his season total to three, all coming in the last two weeks.
BRIDGEWATER capped its season with its highest scoring output of year in a 45-13 win over Catholic. The Eagles racked up 542 yards of offense behind 319 passing from quarterback Matt Pisarcik. He threw for three touchdowns against one interception, and ran in a score from 10 yards out. Two of his scoring plays covered 85 and 75 yards. The 85-yarder went to Keith Jennings, who finished with seven catches for an ODAC weekly-high 163 yards. Dylan Horne had the 75-yard play on the way to a four-catch 98-yard day. Kevin Barr and Zane Grudzinski also caught TD passes on the day with Ross Rushing hitting Grudzinski for the final points of the contest. Kevon White led BC rushing with 97 yards and touchdown on 22 carries. Defensively, BC gave up 392 yards of offense, but forced four turnovers in the process. Isaac Evans and Anthony Moton II intercepted passes, Sonny Romine and Davey Hardesty forced and recovered fumbles. Romine led the unit with 10 tackles. Evans, Nicholas Cawthon and Arris Payton registered quarterback sacks.
CATHOLIC put up 392 yards of offense, but committed four turnovers in a season-ending loss at Bridgewater. T.J. Tutone capped a strong season with 262 yards and a touchdown on 38-of-52 passing. He's currently first in the ODAC in completion percentage (66.2%) and second in yards (3,138) and touchdowns (25). He also ran for a score against the Eagles, giving him four rushing scores on the season. Lucas Morley hauled in 10 passes for 69 yards. The 10 receptions give him an ODAC-best 100 on the season for 967 yards and 14 touchdowns, the latter two numbers ranking second in the conference. The 100 receptions are 69 more than he had last season. Jamie Young caught the touchdown pass from Tutone against BC. Defensively, Dave Zarkoski led the Cardinals with 11 stops. Ross Sanford had five tackles including his third sack of the season. Paul Tecklenberg registered his first interception of the year.
EMORY & HENRY completed the 2015 season on Saturday with a 41-30 loss to Guilford College …The contest marks three straight years that the Quakers have topped the Wasps on the gridiron … After falling behind 13-9 at halftime, E&H scored a pair of third-quarter touchdowns to take a 23-13 lead … GC regained the advantage with its own pair of scores in the third period, 27-23, but the Emory & Henry answered back early in the fourth quarter to go up 30-27 … The Quakers added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to go up 34-30 and the final 41-30 margin ... Kevin Saxton went 20-for-43 through the air for 339 yards and three touchdowns, hitting Tyree Ward with three passes for 72 yards and a touchdown … Jesse Vandyke and Nick Webb each caught touchdown passes in the game, finishing with 45 and 31 yards, respectively … Saxton connected with 10 different receivers on the afternoon … Chris Thompson rushed 11 times for 74 yards and a touchdown and added 20 receiving yards while Isaiah Rodgers ran for 45 yards and caught two passes for 25 more ... Defensively, Tre’von Lightfoot had a game-high 12 tackles and added a defensive two-point conversion after a blocked extra point attempt … Ryan Byrd posted nine tackles while Rasheen Williams added seven stops including a sack for five yards and a blocked kick … All three of Jaylen Simmons' tackles came as sacks for 2.5 total and a loss of 21 yards of offense for GC. He has 3.5 sacks on the season.
GUILFORD quarterback Matt Pawlowski notched his second 400-yard passing game of the season and fourth of his career in the Quakers' comeback win over Emory & Henry. He completed 17 of 20 second-half passes for 278 yards and guided the hosts to touchdowns on four straight possessions to complete the rally. Pawlowski completed a season-high 76% of his passes, the seventh-best total in school history. He broke his own record for touchdown throws in a season (39). Moved into seventh place in NCAA Division III history with 116 career touchdown tosses. Threw touchdowns of 20 and 27 yards to Adam Smith. His 39-yard impromptu shovel pass to De'Eric Bell went for the go-ahead score. He later threw an 18-yard touchdown to Rontavius Miller on 3rd and 15 from the 18. Adam Smith made a career-high 15 receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns. With 18 touchdown catches this year, he broke the school's single-season touchdowns record formerly held by Junior Lord. His 18 scores match Lord's mark for overall touchdowns in a season and stand second in ODAC history. Smith's 110 points this year also match the school standard. De'Eric Bell contributed 219 all-purpose yards and three scores to the Quakers' win. He gained a game-high 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Bell broke the Guilford record for kick return yards in a season (736) and the ODAC mark for all-purpose yards in a season (2235). His 736 kickoff return yards stand third in league history. Defensively, junior defensive back Karl Roberts made seven tackles and recovered a key fumble at the Quakers' 22-yard line. The recovery thwarted a Wasps' drive and set up a Guilford scoring drive capped by a Pawlowski to Smith touchdown that brought Guilford to within four points. The recovery marked Roberts' team-leading third of the season. Guilford's defense allowed 23.9 points per game this season, it's fewest since 2009. The number has declined in each of the past four seasons.
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY posted a strong defensive outing in the 2015 season finale, but ultimately fell 14-9 to Randolph-Macon in the 120 edition of the Game. The Tigers still hold a 60-49-11 advantage in the series. With the loss, the Tigers end the season at 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the ODAC. On the day, Hampden-Sydney tallied 339 yards of offense with 195 passing and 144 rushing. They were able to drive the field, but were just one-of-four in the red zone and two-of-five on fourth down conversions. Edgar Moore was 16-of-37 for 195 yards and two interceptions. Michael Mey led all receivers with five catches for 55 yards. Austin Perryman had 40 yards on four receptions, and Cam Johnson and Owen Costello each had two grabs for a combined 91 yards. Kyree Koonce ran for 145 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. He wraps up his first year in the Garnet and Gray with the second best season for a Tiger back with 1,313 yards. Defensively, Hampden-Sydney allowed just 209 yards with 94 on the ground and 115 through the air. The unit also had 13.0 tackles-for-loss and six sacks. Tyler Martin posted a game-high 14 tackles, including 1.5 for loss. Christian Wilder and Jay Brooks each had seven stops. Ryan Jones had two sacks, while Tyler Palmer, Ben Carson, Bender Vaught, and Joe Everette each had one sack.
RANDOLPH-MACON continued its grind it out approach to offense as the Yellow Jackets held onto the ball for more than 35 minutes in its 14-9 win over Hampden-Sydney in the 120th edition of "The Game." R-MC leads the ODAC in TOP at better than 33 minutes per contest. The Yellow Jackets were limited to just 209 yards of total offense. Joe McBride registered their lone offensive touchdown with a two-yard touchdown run to cap the game's first drive, but it was the R-MC defense thereafter that kept H-SC in check with four forced turnovers. JJ Hill came away with both of R-MC's interceptions, returning one for a touchdown for what would be the deciding points of the game. Hill's other INT came in the end zone to thwart a H-SC third quarter drive. Deshaun Rogers posted a team-best nine tackles with a fumble recovery and three pass breakups. Norman Cade also forced and recovered a fumble. Xavier Strothers forced a fumble to go with 2.0 TFLs and six total stops. Tom Buchanan made three tackles in the Tigers' backfield. Hill, Jake Pinkston and Cole Burdette all registered quarterback sacks.
SHENANDOAHput up 21 points in less that three minutes in the fourth quarter against Washington and Lee, but the comeback fell short in a 34-21 season-ending loss to the Generals. Cedrick Delaney racked up 120 yards on 24 carries, helping him finish the season with 1,035 yards, second-best in the ODAC. It marked his second straight season with more than 1,000 yards and gives him 2,298 for his career. Quarterback Hayden Bauserman went 21-of-35 for 244 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions. His three TD passes went to Qlyl Middelijn, Leonard Scott, and Garrett Rohrbaugh. Defensively, SU surrendered 483 yards of offense to the Generals, including 455 on the ground. But the unit also forced four turnovers, including a trio of fumbles. Michael Messick, Jake Payne and Javonte Rose recovered the loose balls. Cedrick Bridges forced one fumble and led the Hornets with 16 tackles and an interception. Micheal Wroble had 11 stops and a forced fumble. Gladimir Dupalis had a pair of tackles for a loss. Messick, with eight tackles on Saturday, currently stands as the ODAC lead with 126 total tackles and 70 solo stops. Payne is the conference leader in sacks with seven.
WASHINGTON AND LEEset a school record for victories (10-0) and produced its first undefeated regular season since 1961 with its 34-21 win over Shenandoah on Saturday. The Generals also set school records for total offense (5,107), rushing yards (4,450), points (396), rushing touchdowns (52) and tied the mark for total touchdowns (55). Junior running back Marshall Hollerith rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. It was Hollerith’s fourth straight 100-yard game and the 13th 100-yard game of his career. He moved into fifth-place on the school’s all-time rushing list with 2,610 yards. He also ranks second all-time in rushing touchdowns (35). Junior placekicker Matt Underhill had his final kick of the game at Shenandoah blocked, snapping a string of 73 consecutive PAT’s made dating back to the 2013 season. Underhill ranks second on the team in scoring with 66 points. He is 4-of-5 on field goals and 54-of-55 on PAT’s. Underhill set a school record for season PAT’s made (54), besting the mark of 50 set by Peter Alston ’12 in 2010. W&L committed four turnovers in the win over Shenandoah, breaking a string of two straight games and three of the last four without turning the ball over. Against Shenandoah, the Generals failed to score on the first possession of the second half for the first time in their last seven games. W&L logged four more rushes of at least 20 yards against the Hornets bringing its season total for runs of 20 or more yards to 48. For the season, W&L averages 6.8 yards per carry.
NEXT WEEK: at Thomas More (10-0, 8-0 Presidents' AC) - 12:00 p.m. Washington and Lee opens the NCAA Division III Tournament on the road at Thomas More College. The Saints earned an automatic bid after claiming the Presidents' Athletic Conference crown following an 8-0 run thru its league counterparts. W&L and Thomas More met in a 2010 NCAA Tournament first round contest and the Saints claimed a 42-14 victory. The Generals are making their fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and carry an 0-3 overall record. W&L fell to Hobart (38-20) in its last NCAA appearance during the 2012 season.
