The Cardinals got big rushing days from Matt Perno (102) and Nick Esposito (94) as they combined for 196 yards on the ground in CUA's 27-14 win over the University of Rochester. Perno also hauled in a 55-yard touchdown pass from Jorge Pola to open the game's scoring.  Pola right two scores on the day as well as ran in another one. Lucas Morley caught the other touchdown as he finished with eight catches for 51 yards. Ross Sanford led the defense with nine tackles including two TFLs. Emory & Henry and Maryville (Tenn.) will be meeting for the 68th time on Saturday, with the Wasps holding a 42-23-2 advantage in the all-time series. It will be the fourth-straight year that the Wasps and Scots have met on the gridiron as Emory & Henry's longest football rivalry was suspended for 11 years during the 2000's. Last season, the Scots posted a 30-13 victory despite being out-gained by E&H, 327-294. E&H got rushing touchdowns from Isaiah Rodgers and Chris Thompson, but two lost fumbles and a pair of interceptions hampered the E&H offense.

He set the school record for rushing yards in a game and tied the Guilford standard with four rushing scores. Bell also caught a couple passes and returned some kicks to finish with 305 all-purpose yards, which ranks second in school history to his school-record total of 326 set last year against Shenandoah. Bell's 295 rushing yards ranks fifth all-time in the ODAC and his four rushing scores share the fourth-highest mark. He scored one touchdown in every quarter and had a career-high 190 yards by the half. His 91-yard scoring run in the third quarter is the second-longest run from scrimmage in school history. Bell climbed into fifth place among Guilford's career rushing leaders (1,836) and second in career rushing touchdowns (19). Quarterback Karsten Miller was shaken up and sat out a few plays in the first quarter, but returned to complete 17-of-25 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 19 times for 68 yards and a score.... Defensively, end Gibson Ziah continued his strong start with a career-best 10 tackles (4 solo) in Guilford's win over Methodist. He led Guilford with 1.5 tackles for loss and forced a fumble, which set up a Quakers' touchdown just before halftime to open a 24-0 intermission advantage. Linebacker Hunter Hoots led Guilford's tacklers for the second straight game. He made 12 stops and broke up a pass.... senior Karl Roberts contributed seven tackles and recovered a fumble. He also collected an errant point-after snap and returned it for a rare, two-point defensive point after conversion
