McDonald, a senior from Chesterfield, Va., made two of three big
plays that helped lead to and secure Hampden-Sydney’s
come-from-behind victory at Bridgewater on Saturday. Down
17-10 in the third quarter, an Eagles’ snap from center went
over the quarterback’s head and bounded amongst players
backwards for nearly 30 yards before McDonald pounced on it at the
BC 12-yard line. One play later, H-SC tied the game with a
12-yard touchdown run. Later in the game on
Bridgewater’s final drive, McDonald sacked the quarterback on
third down, forcing a long fourth down attempt that failed and
returned the ball to the Tigers, who promptly ran out the clock.
For the game, McDonald recorded five tackles including a pair
of TFL’s and one sack, recovered a fumble, and recorded one
pass defended.
