Mehlhaff, a senior from Louisa, Va., had a big day in the
Eagles’ secondary as he played a part in two of
Bridgewater’s four forced turnovers against Shenandoah.
In the second quarter, Mehlhaff put the Eagles on the scoreboard
with an interception and 32-yard return for a touchdown to give BC
a 7-6 lead midway through the frame. In the fourth quarter,
Mehlhaff forced a fumble of a Shenandoah receiver at the BC
two-yard line, thwarting a potential scoring play and preserving
28-16 Bridgewater lead (BC eventually won 28-23). Mehlhaff
finished with six tackles (five solo), including one for a loss, to
go with his interception and forced fumble.
