Westfal, a senior from New Canaan, Conn., picks up his second
straight weekly award after leading the Generals to a 52-42 win
over Bridgewater. The Washington and Lee offense racked up
606 yards of total offense, including 444 yards on the ground.
Westfal completed 11-of-15 passes for 162 yards and two
touchdowns, and he rushed 16 times for 109 yards and two more
touchdowns. In the fourth quarter when W&L score 21
points and the two teams combined for 35 points, Westfal ran for 86
yards and both of his touchdowns. In the victory, Westfal set
a new W&L career total offense record with 6,508 yards,
breaking the former mark of 6,383 held by Christian Batcheller
since 1999. For the season, Westfal has completed 62.2
percent of his passes for 1,141 yards and 10 touchdowns with just
one interception. He has also rushed 108 times for a
career-best 602 yards (sixth in the ODAC) and six more scores (tied
for fifth in the ODAC).
