Nance, a junior from Calhoun, Ga., opened the new campaign with
arguably his best day as a Tiger in leading Hampden-Sydney to a
42-12 triumph over Averett University. The H-SC signal-caller
had a hand in all six Tiger touchdowns as he threw for four and ran
for two more. He was nearly perfect thru the air, completing
24-of-28 passes for 372 yards without an interception. He and
wide receiver Holton Walker connected 14 times for a school-record
235 yards and two scores. On the ground, Nance toted the ball
eight times for 75 yards, his best day running the ball at
H-SC.
