VWC to Host Games Away from HomeFebruary 11, 2009The USA Field Hockey National Training Center will host five of VWCs nine home contests slated in September and October. The Marlins are making the move to the Training Center through a relationship between the Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation department and VWC Head Coach Joyce Anne Koubaroulis.

Hornets Fall to Ursinus in NCAA'sNovember 15, 2008Lynchburg field hockey saw its season come to an end on Saturday morning as Ursinus College topped the Hornets, 3-2, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. LC finishes with an 18-6 overall record.

LCs Weir, EMUs Derstine Share Top Field Hockey HonorNovember 12, 2008Lynchburg's Allie Weir and Eastern Mennonite's Alyssa Derstine were named Co-Players of the Year in All-ODAC Field Hockey voting. Lynchburgs Enza Steele received the Coach of the Year award while fellow Hornet Kristina Morris was named the Rookie of the Year. EMUs Kristina Landis took home the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete award.

Lynchburg Wins Third Straight TitleNovember 08, 2008Lynchburg field hockey claimed its third straight ODAC title on Saturday as the Hornets defeated Eastern Mennonite, 4-2, in Harrisonburg. Samantha Marano was tabbed as the tournament's MOP.

ODAC Field Hockey Pairings SetOctober 28, 2008Eastern Mennonite enters the ODAC Field Hockey Tournament as the #1 seed after finishing the conference regular season with a 6-1 record and winning a head-to-head tiebreaker with Lynchburg. The Hornets sit second while Randolph-Macon and Washington and Lee round out the top four seeds.

Lynchburg Picked to Win Third Straight Field Hockey TitleAugust 26, 2008Lynchburg was selected by the leagues coaches to win the title for a third consecutive time in the 2008 ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll. The Hornets garnered five first place votes and 60 total points. Eastern Mennonite is just four points back (56 pts.) after picking up a pair of top marks. Washington and Lee sits in third with 49 points and the remaining highest rank.
