  • Lynchburg Falls to Denison in NCAA Quarterfinals
    May 17, 2017
    Lynchburg College saw its 2017 season come to a close on Wednesday afternoon as the Hornets dropped an 18-9 decision at Denison University in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament quarterfinals.
  • Top-Ranked Salisbury Eliminates Hampden-Sydney from NCAA Tournament
    May 13, 2017
    Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse fell to #1 ranked Salisbury University 25-12 on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament Third Round. The 12 goals were the most goals Salisbury has allowed all season, who ranks first in the country in scoring defense.
  • Lynchburg Tops York for Berth in NCAA Men's Lax Quarterfinals
    May 13, 2017
    Lynchburg College brought its season record against York (Pa.) College to 2-0 with a 10-8 triumph over the Spartans at YCP's Kinsley Field. The Hornets, who trounced the Spartans 9-8 in double-overtime in the third game of the their 2017 schedule, move on to face Denison University on May 17 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
  • W&L's Witherell, H-SC's Rostan Headline ODAC Men's Lacrosse Awards

    Washington and Lee University attackman A.J. Witherell and Hampden-Sydney College head coach Jason Rostan headline the 2017 All-ODAC Men's Lacrosse awards, as the two were named ODAC Player of the Year and ODAC Coach of the Year. Roanoke College scorer Jason Sarro received ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels, while Shenandoah University attackman Stephen LaTona repeated as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.
  • Hampden-Sydney Rolls Past Transylvania in NCAA Second Round
    May 10, 2017
    Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse won their third NCAA Tournament game and first since 2003 with a decisive 23-8 win over Transylvania University in the Second Round. The Tigers advance to play Salisbury University on Saturday. Game location and time is to be determined.
  • Lynchburg Weathers Storm and Sewanee in NCAA Win
    May 10, 2017
    The Second Round match-up between the Hornets and Tigers went longer than anticipated as clusters of thunderstorms hit the campus, forcing two delays which combined for more than two hours. The Hornets led 2-0 before the first delay and held a 7-2 advantage as the second delay was called. The Tigers roared back into the game following the second delay, even taking the lead at one point. The Hornets did not let the game slip away though, responding to their opponents goals and eventually retaking the lead and not letting go, finishing off the Tigers and advancing to the 3rd Round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • H-SC, LC Set to Host in NCAA Men's Lax Tournament

    Not only were two ODAC squads selected to the 34-team field that will compete in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament, but both were tapped to host first round matchups. Hampden-Sydney College, winners of the ODAC's automatic bid, are joined by at-large choice Lynchburg College (see the reaction from the watch party) in representing the conference on the national stage. Both will also stay at home as second round hosts.
  • Hampden-Sydney Captures ODAC Men's Lacrosse Title

    Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse won the ODAC Championship with a 14-9 win over Lynchburg College. The Tigers earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. It is H-SC's fifth ODAC Championship, the first since 2001, and the first ODAC Tournament Championship with the tournament starting with the 2002 season.

    For the second time in as many years, a tie at the top of the ODAC standings dictated the assignment of seeds in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Unlike in 2016, this deadlock featured three squads with 8-1 conference records.

  • Roanoke Leads Tight ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll
    February 08, 2017
    Roanoke College, winner of an ODAC record 18 men's lacrosse championships, was picked as a narrow favorite to add to that total by the league's head coaches in the annual ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. The Maroons picked up five first place votes on the way to 76 total points, just one clear of defending champion Washington and Lee University. The Generals earned four top nods. Third and fourth places are only separated by one point as well. Lynchburg College garnered the remaining first place vote as part of a 63-point total. Hampden-Sydney College sits just one point back in fourth as the Tigers prepare to open a new era under Jason Rostan following the retirement of his father, Ray Rostan.
  • Former VWC Standout Drafted in First Round by NLL's Rochester Knighthawks

    Attack Josh Currier '16 became the first ODAC player drafted in the first round by the National Lacrosse League (NLL) Monday when he went sixth overall to the Rochester Knighthawks. Currier was the first Division III player taken in the draft after a successful career with the Virginia Wesleyan College men's lacrosse program and Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse.
