ODAC Players of the Week: March 7, 2011
March 07, 2011Spring Break is in full swing for many schools, with tournaments featuring in several spring sports. ODAC Names Jopson, Berkley Winners
June 11, 2010A pair of student-athletes were honored with the league's highest honors on Thursday afternoon at the annual ODAC Board of Directors meetings. Rebecca Bradford from VWC was awarded the Marjorie Berkley Award. Fellow senior and H-SC men’s tennis star, William Moss, garnered the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award. -
White Set for Men's Tennis Championships
May 28, 2010Hayden White has had quite a rookie year at Washington and Lee, and his season will continue on Friday as the recently crowned ITA Atlantic South Region Rookie of the Year will be the ODAC’s lone representative at the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships. The event will be played at and hosted by Oberlin College. -
White Falls in NCAA Round of 32
May 28, 2010Washington and Lee first-year Hayden White fell in the opening round of the NCAA Singles Championship held at Oberlin College on Friday morning. He lost 6-3, 6-4 to Sam Sweeney of North Central College (Ill.) -
W&L Men Eliminated by Emory
May 16, 2010The 25th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season come to an end in the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament with a 5-0 loss to second-ranked Emory University on Sunday afternoon at the W&L Upper Courts. The Generals loss to Emory followed a 5-3 win over the College of New Jersey on Saturday. -
NCAA Releases Men's Tennis Bracket
May 11, 2010The NCAA announced its field for the Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament on Monday evening and Washington and Lee University has been selected to host the first, second and third rounds of the tournament. Transylvania University, Wilkes University, the College of New Jersey and Emory University will be making the trip to Lexington. -
Moss Takes Home Two Tennis Honors
April 30, 2010Hampden-Sydney College senior Will Moss became the second ODAC men’s tennis student-athlete to win four ODAC Player of the Year awards in a vote of the league’s men’s tennis coaches. Moss picked up a second honor as he was voted the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete by the ODAC sports information directors. -
W&L Men's Tennis Claims ODAC Title
April 25, 2010The 25th-ranked and second-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team claimed a 5-3 victory over 27th-ranked and top-seeded Hampden-Sydney in the championship match of the ODAC Tournament on Sunday afternoon at the Duchossois Tennis Center.Washington and Lee will receive the ODAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which begins on May 14. -
ODAC Men's Tennis Seeds Set
April 19, 2010Defending ODAC champion Hampden-Sydney College enters the 2010 ODAC Men’s Tennis Tournament following a 9-0 record in conference play. The Tigers, who are 12-3 in overall action, currently stand 27th in latest ITA NCAA Division III National Poll. -
H-SC Tops ODAC Men's Tennis Poll
February 19, 2010Hampden-Sydney College received six first place votes and totaled 96 points overall in the 2010 ODAC Men’s Tennis Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee University collected four first place nods and earned 94 total points to claim second, while Bridgewater College picked up 75 points for the third spot. -
VWC Names Kahn as Tennis Director
July 01, 2009Ed Kahn, a well-known individual in the Hampton Roads tennis loop for nearly 30 years, has been named the Director of Tennis by VWC. Kahn was on staff last season as the assistant coach. He now takes over the Director's spot vacated by Frank Early.
