  • W&L's White Competes in NCAA Tennis

    ashington and Lee sophomore Hayden White was eliminated in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Division III Singles Championship on Friday at Pomona-Pitzer. White, ranked seventh in the region, finished his sophomore campaign with a 19-5 overall singles record and a 20-4 doubles mark.

    The Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-1 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday morning at the W&L Outdoor Courts.
  • Generals Ready for NCAA Play

    Washington and Lee University will represent the ODAC in the 2011 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Team Tournament set to begin on Friday. The Generals will host a five-team pod and have earned a bye into the second round. Hayden White (pictured) will also play in the individual singles tournament.
  • Pugh, Smith Head Men's Tennis Awards

    H-SC's Rich Pugh was tabbed the Player of the Year as part of the 2011 All-ODAC Men’s Tennis awards. BC's Conor Smith was tabbed the Coach of the Year, and GC’s Tyler Mercier was named the Rookie of the Year. W&L’s Will Hall secured the scholar-athlete award in a vote of the league’s sports information directors. BC earned the team sportsmanship award.
  • W&L Men's Tennis Wins ODAC Title

    The Washington and Lee men's tennis team claimed its second-straight Old Dominon Athletic Conference title with a 5-0 victory over Hampden-Sydney on Saturday afternoon at the W&L Outdoor Courts. The win gave the Generals their 30th ODAC title in the 35 years that the conference has recognized a champion.

    The top-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team advanced to the championship match of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament with a 5-0 victory over fifth-seeded Emory & Henry in a semifinal match on Friday afternoon.

    The Washington and Lee men's tennis team recorded a 6-0 victory over Lynchburg College in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday morning at the Duchossois Tennis Center. The Generals move on to face either Roanoke or Emory & Henry on Friday in the semifinals in Lexington.

    Defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University enters the 2011 ODAC Men’s Tennis Tournament as the top seed following a 9-0 record in conference play. The Generals, who are 11-2 throughout all spring matches, are tied for 30th in the latest ITA NCAA Division III National Poll and seventh in the Atlantic South Region.

  • W&L Tops ODAC Men's Tennis Poll

    Washington and Lee University received eight first place votes and 98 total points to top the 2011 ODAC Men’s Tennis Preseason Poll. Hampden-Sydney College picked up the remaining two top nods from the league’s coaches, leading to 92 poll points. Bridgewater capped the top three with 78 tallies.
  • R-MC Opens New Tennis Facility

    Randolph-Macon is proud to announce the opening of a brand-new tennis complex on campus. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the complex located at 112 Henry Clay Road, Ashland, Virginia. R-MC tennis coach Wayne Vaughan and the tennis teams were on hand, and mini tennis clinics were held for elementary-age students.
  • Campbell Takes Reins of Randolph Tennis

    The WildCat’s tennis programs have found a new head mentor, as Jamie Campbell was selected to lead Randolph men’s and women’s teams, as announced by Director of Athletics Tina Hill Tuesday morning. Campbell comes to the College after having extensive experience at the Division I level, most recently at UTEP.
