    Director of Athletics Jon Waters announced today that Chris Johnson has been appointed as the Director of Tennis. He will assume his duties effective immediately.

  • Generals' Krasner Highlights All-ODAC Men's Tennis Awards

    Washington and Lee University standout Jordan Krasner joins his women's teammate Brooke Donnelly in taking home a pair of major honors to highlight the 2017 All-ODAC Men's Tennis Awards. Krasner earned ODAC Player of the Year honors in addition to being selected as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete. Bridgewater College mentor Jordon Robinson garnered ODAC Coach of the Year honors from his peers, while Guilford College first-year competitor Tate Godwin picked up ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels.
  • Generals Capture 36th ODAC Men's Tennis Championship

    The top-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team claimed its league-record 36th Old Dominion Athletic Conference title with a 5-0 victory over third-seeded Guilford in the championship match of the conference tournament.

    Last season, Washington and Lee University captured a conference-record 35th ODAC men's tennis trophy, but did so as the second seed. Heading into the 2017 ODAC Men's Tennis Tournament, the Generals return to their familiar perch atop the eight-team field for next week's postseason event.

  • Washington and Lee Heads ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll

    Washington and Lee University has hoisted seven consecutive conference trophies and was picked to repeat yet again as the Generals headline the annual ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll conducted by the league's head coaches. W&L earned 10 first place votes on the way to 100 total points. The next four ranks in the table are separated by just 19 points, with Bridgewater College sitting second with 82 tallies. Guilford College and its 70 points are just two ticks clear of Hampden-Sydney College for third place, although the Tigers did corral the final first place nod. Virginia Wesleyan College rounds out the tightly packed group with 63 points.
  • Lynchburg Tabs Christopher Clarke as Director of Tennis

    Director of Athletics Jon Waters announced today the appointment of Christopher Clarke as the new Director of Tennis for the Lynchburg Hornets. " Chris has had a wide variety of tennis experiences and will be a great mentor and coach for our tennis programs as they continue to build on the successes of last year and the hard work that they have put in this fall. " said Waters. Clarke, a PTR Certified Professional, will begin immediately.
  • Former LC Standout Record Returns to Lead Hornet Tennis Programs
    August 19, 2016
    Athletic Director Jon Waters announced on Friday that former Lynchburg College tennis standout and Hall of Fame member Kevin Record has been named the head men's and women's coach of the Hornets. Record made the finals of the ODAC tournament at the No. 2 singles position three times and, along with Conrad Frey, was among the first two LC players ever selected to play in the NCAA Tournament.
  • Roanoke Selects Morris to Lead Men's Tennis Program
    July 27, 2016
    Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison announced Wednesday the appointment of Jake Morris as the Maroons Head Men's Tennis Coach. No stranger to the Maroon program, Morris capped a successful career on the court for RC in May and will now transition to the coaching ranks. A four-year letter winner and a two-time captain of the Maroons, Morris graduated with a degree in sports management from RC in May.
