  • Hartman, Flynn Named Track Top Athletes

    The postseason awards continued to roll in for a pair of the conference’s most successful spring athletes as the ODAC track & field coaches voted on their sport’s top athletes of the 2010 campaign. Bridgewater senior Courtney Hartman and fellow senior Ricky Flynn from Lynchburg were named the 2010 ODAC Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Year.
  • Yerkes an All-American Three Times Over

    Roanoke College senior sprinter Robin Yerkes ran her way to three All-American awards on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships. She earned honors in the 200 and 400 dashes, as well as the 4x100 relay. Lynchburg's Ricky Flynn picked up his second All-American award of the weekend in the 5,000 run.
  • Hartman Wins NCAA D-III Heptathlon

    Bridgewater senior Courtney Hartman put the cap on a stellar season as she won the heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace College. Hartman racked up 4,904 points to win by 92 points over the next closest competitor. Her point total also fell 47 points shy of tying the ODAC record.
  • Rhodes, Flynn All-Americans on Day 1

    Several ODAC athletes took to George Finnie Stadium on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, on Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships. Bridgewater's Christina Rhodes and Lynchburg's Ricky Flynn secured All-American honors for their performances.
  • Hartman's Win Highlights Day 2 of Track

    Bridgewater College senior Courtney Hartman highlighted another strong day for ODAC athletes at the 2010 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Hartman became the first ODAC athlete to win the heptathlon earlier in the afternoon as she topped 18 other athletes in the seven-event discipline.
  • BC's Rhodes Wins NCAA Elite 88 Award

    Bridgewater's Christina Rhodes received the NCAA Elite 88 Award NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship banquet on Wednesday. The award is presented to the student-athlete at the championship with the highest GPA. Rhodes received her award from the NCAA's John Williams (above), and then earned All-America honors in the pole vault on day one.
  • ODAC Track Stars Ready for NCAA's

    Eight student-athletes from four ODAC member schools are set to ply their trades in Ohio this week at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Six women and two men head into the Cleveland-area for the three-day event hosted by Baldwin-Wallace. The ODAC will feature athletes from Bridgewater, Eastern Mennonite, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.
  • Dr. Toms to Step Away from Coaching

    Just three days after leading his Lynchburg outdoor men’s track & field team to the 2010 ODAC Championship and earning conference Coach of the Year honors, head men’s cross country and track and field coach Dr. Jack Toms announced his retirement Tuesday from coaching, effective at the end of the season. He will remain as the director of athletics at the school.
  • Yerkes, Reid Help Lead Teams to Titles

    Roanoke College won the women’s championship and Lynchburg College claimed the men’s title Saturday at the 2010 ODAC Track & Field Championships hosted by Bridgewater College. Robin Yerkes and Dan Reid were named the Female and Male Athletes of the Meets after propelling their schools to team wins.
