2020 Softball Players of the Week

  • Emily Davis, Eastern Mennonite, So., Outfielder

    Davis, a sophomore from King George, Va., put together a strong showing in which she slashed at .615/.688/1.077 in the Royals 2-2 week that featured splits with Southern Virginia (5-4, 5-11) and Mary Baldwin (5-4, 4-6). Davis doubled, drove in a run, and scored a run in game against at SVU. She went 2-for-3 with a double, walk, and run scored in game two. Eastern Mennonite's leadoff hitter went 3-for-3 with a double, walk, stolen base, and three runs scored in game one at MBU. She went 2-for-3 with a homer, RBI, walk, and two runs scored in the second game against the Fighting Squirrels. For the season, Davis is sixth in the league in both batting average (.472) and on-base percentage (.558). She is fifth in slugging (.750).
  • Megan Scalley, Shenandoah, So., Pitcher

    Scalley, a sophomore from Cedar Knolls, N.J., earned a trio of victories over three starts last week, going the distance in each contest. Scalley pitched twice against MacMurray College on different days, giving up just one run over 14 innings. In the first game, she gave up 1 run on 4 hits with 3 walks and a career-high 11 strikeouts in an 8-1 triumph. She came back the next day and posted a two hit shutout against the Highlanders in a 2-0 victory. She walked one and reset her collegiate-best mark with 12 punchouts over seven innings. Scalley was back in the win column via a 9-6 victory over Mary Washington. She gave up six runs with just three earned on six hits. She walked six and registered seven strikeouts to give her 30 Ks over 21.0 innings pitched for the week. On the season, Scalley is 3-3 with a 3.63 earned run average combing 34.2 innings of work. She has struck out 40 batters, fifth-best in the ODAC.
