Washington and Lee Swimming Wins ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. --- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference swimming members opened their seasons this weekend at the ODAC Relays at the Cy Twombly Pool on the campus of Washington and Lee University. The Generals won the event with 448.5 points, followed by Emory & Henry College in second with 285.0 markers. Randolph-Macon College rounded out the top three with 232.0 total points (full standings listed below).

The Generals and Wasps picked up five first place finishes apiece on the day. E&H was crowned first in the 150-yard butterfly (1:22.31), 150-yard breaststroke (1:37.76), 400-yard freestyle (3:42.42), 200-yard medley (1:54.02) and 200-yard freestyle (1:40.80) relays. E&H’s team of Jessica Richardson, Payton Shirey, Allison Fowler and Michaela Nolte broke a school record in the 400-yard free relay, while the same four swimmers also set Twombly Pool records in the 400-yard and 200-yard free relays. W&L won the 150-yard backstroke (1:24.92), 500-yard freestyle (4:49.96), 100-yard dolphin kick (56.18), 300-yard IM (3:10.40) and the 200-yard (8x25) freestyle (1:38.49) relays.

The Yellow Jackets placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.97 and notched four fourth place finishes in the 150-yard backstroke (1:32.46), 150-yard breaststroke (1:47.94), 400-yard freestyle (3:56.59) and 200-yard freestyle (1:46.32) relays.

The Eagles finished third in the 150-yard butterfly relay in a school-record time of 1:25.68. BC also touched the wall third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:45.94.
