Schaffer, a freshman from Wheaton, Ill., was a part of three winning events and a trio of pool records in the Generals 114-78 away win over Sweet Briar this past week. Schaffer and her Washington and Lee teammates touched out in 2:06.61 in the in the 200-meter medley relay (5.92 second margin of victory) to set one pool record. They turned the trick again in the 400-meter medley relay with a time of 4:09.28, good enough to win the event by 17.03 seconds. Schaffer then put her own name on the Prothro Natatorium record board as she secured a win the 200-meter freestyle in a time of 2:12.73, which won the event by 10.53 seconds over teammate Kate Feeser.
Swimming Honor Roll
Danielle Dillon, Bridgewater (Va.)

Dillon won two individual events and aided the Eagles in a relay
victory to help lead the Bridgewater Eagles swim team to a 128-40
victory over visiting Ferrum College on Saturday morning in
Nininger Pool. Dillon won the both the 400-meter (5:01.92) and
800-meter (10:36.81) freestyle races for the second straight week.
The Roanoke, Va. native also swam a leg of Bridgewater's 200-meter
freestyle relay (2:01.98), which won the race after the competition
turned to exhibition after the Eagles had decided the meet
victory.
Payton Shirey, Emory & Henry - (Fr.,
- Seaford, Del.)
Shirey helped Emory & Henry to a double-dual sweep of Sweet
Briar College and Guilford College on Saturday at SBC. She
won the 50-meter (28:49) and 100-meter (1:04.77) freestyle events,
with margins of victory of 1.28 and 1.74 seconds
,respectively. She then swam the freestyle leg for E&H's
200-meter medley relay team (2:13.76), which won by 2.9
seconds.
