Stephan, a junior from Hampton, Va., put together a strong showing as he helped Hampden-Sydney defeat Gallaudet, 178-73, in a dual meet last week. He is the first Tiger to earn an ODAC men's swimmer of the week award. Stephan won two individual events and finished second in a third. He also helped the Tigers win a relay. Stephan placed first in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:06.05 in addition to winning the 100-meter freestyle in 0:56.11. He added a second place showing in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:35.22. Stephan swam a leg of the winning 200-meter medley relay, which stopped the watches at 2:02.31.
