Deal, a first-year from Mechanicsville, Va., competed in four events as he helped Roanoke to first place amongst six teams at the Guilford College Invitational. Deal finished second in in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM with ODAC season-best times. His mark of 0:57.39 in the 100-breaststroke ranks 25th in NCAA Division III. His time of 1:57.56 in the 200-IM is 70th in the country. Deal also helped Roanoke win the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays. He and Erik Kratzer, Richie Evans, and Xavier Williams posted a time of 1:26.05 in the 200-free, which tops the ODAC charts and ranks 21st nationally. Deal joined Kratzer, Ben Tate, and Williams in winning the 200-medley in 1:34.06. That also tops the conference table and slots 16th in Division III.

 - won the "pentathlon" at the Guilford College Invitational by placing 7th in 100-back (57.67), 12th in the 200-IM (2:06.59), 13th in the 100-fly (56.75), 19th in the 100-breaststroke (1:07.60), and 38th in the 100-free (53.02)
