    wo schools very familiar with conference end of season awards added to their showcases of postseason honors as the ODAC Board of Directors determined recipients of the Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Awards. Washington and Lee University volleyball middle blocker Courtney Berry garnered Berkley Award plaudits and Hampden-Sydney College offensive lineman Tyler Howerton collected Jopson Award laurels.
  • ODAC Announces All-ODAC Volleyball Awards

    Washington and Lee University earned three special individual honors and was joined by Virginia Wesleyan University in collecting five all-conference selections to headline the 2021 All-ODAC Volleyball Awards. Generals outside hitter Brynne Gould received ODAC Player of the Year honors, while teammate and middle blocker Courtney Berry was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete. W&L mentor Bryan Snyder garnered ODAC Coach of the Year laurels from his peers. Eastern Mennonite University opposite Paris Hutchinson was recognized as the ODAC Rookie of the Year.

    Behind a combined 25 kills from senior outside hitters Leah Green (Longwood, Fla. / Lake Highland Preparatory School) and Brynne Gould (Boone, N.C./Watauga), the 22nd-ranked and top-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated sixth-seeded Randolph-Macon, 3-0, to claim the 17th ODAC Championship in program history on Saturday evening at Holekamp Gym.

  • ODAC Volleyball Tournament | W&L Tops Eight-Team Field

    The first spring ODAC volleyball season enters its postseason week with the return of a familiar school headlining the championship field with 16-time ODAC champion Washington and Lee University perched atop the eight team bracket. The Generals completed their regular season slate at 13-0 overall and 11-0 in conference play to earn top-billing in the ODAC Tournament.

  • VWU Elevates Cumberbatch to Volleyball Head Coach

    Virginia Wesleyan University president Dr. Scott D. Miller and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletes Joanne Renn proudly announced Karissa Cumberbatch as the new Head Volleyball Coach at the end of this current season, following the promotion of Andrea Hoover-Erbig to Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Karissa has been an assistant with the program since 2019.

  • Interim Tag Removed, McGee Named Hollins Volleyball Head Coach

    It was recently announced by Hollins Director of Athletics, Myra Sims, that Dave McGee will have his interim tag removed and be named the full-time head coach of the Green and Gold volleyball team.

    ODAC women's volleyball embarks on its first-ever spring season over the next two months as teams return to league courts for the first time since November 2019. Twelve conference schools will compete for a chance to lift the ODAC trophy in May.

    The City of Salem has long been touted as "Virginia's Championship City" for its history of hosting NCAA championship events in conjunction with the ODAC. There will be plenty of additional evidence to back up that moniker over the next half-decade.
