  • ODAC Announces Berkley and Jopson Award Winners
    June 04, 2019
    The latter end of the ODAC's alphabet features in the final recognition bestowed by the conference this year as Virginia Wesleyan University and Washington and Lee University are home to the 2018-19 Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Scholar-Athlete Award winners. Marlins women's basketball playmaker Jayla Harris earned the Berkley Award, while Generals cross country and track & field runner Hank Patrick received the Jopson Award following a vote of the conference's Board of Directors.
  • Lynchburg's Johnson Headlines ODAC Contingent at NCAA Championships

    University of Lynchburg sophomore Kaitlyn Johnson highlighted the ODAC's contingent of five runners at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships as she earned All-American honors. She is the first All-American in Lynchburg women's cross country history.

    For the second time in as many seasons, Bridgewater Colllege senior Jamie Hiegel is among the headliners for the final ODAC cross country awards. He is joined this season by University of Lynchburg sophomore Kaitlyn Johnson as the duo were named the ODAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Year, respectively, in a vote of the league's head coaches.

    Two men and two women's competitors earned automatic qualification into the national field after strong showings at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Cross Country Championships hosted by Berry College in Mount Gerry, Ga.

  • Generals, Eagles Earn Sweeps at ODAC Cross Country Championships

    It was a double sweep on Saturday afternoon at Kernstown Battlefield as two squads were represented at the top of the team and individual results from the 2018 ODAC Cross Country Championships. Washington and Lee University swept both team titles for the fourth straight season, while Bridgewater College senior Jamie Hiegel and junior Calista Ariel finished first in the men's and women's races, respectively.

    The 2018 ODAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships head to a new venue on Saturday as Shenandoah University takes its turn at hosting the conference's annual event. Kernstown Battlefield in Kernstown, Va., will provide an excellent venue for the league's 14-competing institutions despite rain that is expected to fall Friday and Saturday.

  • Owens Tabbed to Lead Guilford Track & Field and Cross Country

    Guilford College Athletics Director Sue Bower appointed Marty Owens as the Quakers’ first director of cross country and track and field Thursday. Owens comes to Guilford after completing 15 years as the head cross country and head track and field coach at Susquehanna University.

  • Washington and Lee Headlines ODAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll

    The top of the ODAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll looks much the same as last year with three-time defending champion Washington and Lee University heading the list produced annually by the league's head coaches. The Generals collected 11 first place votes on the way to a chart-topping 121 points. Bridgewater College and the University of Lynchburg also held suit from a season ago in second and third positions, respectively. The Eagles picked up 110 tallies including the remaining top nod, while the Hornets garnered 100 total points.
  • Washington and Lee Tops ODAC Women's Cross Country Poll

    The top-six places in the ODAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll shuffled positions this season, except for the top spot. Three-time defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University garnered 10 first place votes for the second straight year on the way to 141 total points. The University of Lynchburg moved up a few rungs to second position with 128 markers including a pair of first place votes. Bridgewater College sits third with 111 tallies, while Shenandoah University climbs to fourth with 108 points and the remaining top nod.
  • ODAC Announces 2017-18 Sportsmanship Teams

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2017-18 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the conference's 24 sponsored sports. The squads are comprised of a student-athlete selected by the coaching staffs of each team competing under the conference banner with all sports and schools fully represented.
  • Wasps Tab Cheromei to Lead Cross Country and New Track & Field Program

    David Cheromei, who led Virginia Intermont College to historic success as a student-athlete, has been named the head coach for the Emory & Henry College men's & women's cross country/track & field teams.
