Forney, a junior from Newton, N.C., helped the Wasps started the
season 2-0 by leading a dominating defensive performance in a 21-8
win on the road at Maryville College (Tenn.). Forney led the
unit with 12 total tackles (5 solo stops) that included 1.5 tackles
for a loss for minus-10 yards. He also teamed up with Michael
Shipley on a quarterback sack. Forney's biggest play of the
day came in the third quarter when he charred the ball loose from
Maryville's Blake Williams and Evan Williamson picked it up at the
MC four-yard line and returned it to the end zone for a Wasps'
touchdown. On the day, E&H allowed just 166 yards of
total offense and forced three turnovers.
