Thomas, a sophomore from Newtown, N.J., played a big part in the
Cardinals second ODAC win of the season, which came in a 34-7 win
over Shenandoah University. The Cardinals held SU to 236
yards of total offense and forced five turnovers in the effort.
Thomas was responsible for two of those turnovers. He
got things started with an interception midway through the first
quarter that stopped the Hornets as they tried to level the score
at 7-all. In the second quarter, Thomas came up from his
cornerback position to make a stop at the line of scrimmage, but he
also jarred the ball free from the runner and picked up the loose
ball. Three plays later, Catholic made good on the extra
possession with a touchdown for a 13-0 lead. Thomas finished
the day with five total tackles (three solo) and also batted down a
pass, one of six passes broken up by the CUA defense. For the
season, Thomas is third on the team with 32 tackles with a pair of
interceptions.
