  • Generals Drop Overtime Decision to Dickinson in NCAA Third Round
    May 12, 2018
    Sophomore attackman Nick Goles scored off an assist from senior attackman Tyler Strods with 3:35 remaining in overtime to lift ninth-ranked Dickinson to a 10-9 victory over 12th-ranked Washington and Lee in the third round of the NCAA Tournament at Biddle Field.

    Washington and Lee University attackman A.J. Witherell headlines the 2018 All-ODAC Men's Lacrosse Awards as the playmaker repeats as the ODAC Player of the Year. Lynchburg College mentor Steve Koudelka earned ODAC Coach of the Year laurels from his peers, while Roanoke College attackman Garritt Schwarz received ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition. Bridgewater College attackman Blake Mann garnered ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete honors from the conference's sports information directors.

    The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team cut a six-goal deficit down to one early in the fourth quarter, but the Hornets couldn't complete the comeback, falling 16-12 to ninth-ranked Dickinson on the road in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament at the Red Devils' Biddle Field in Carlisle, Pa.

    The 12th-ranked Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team rode a 14-1 halftime lead to a 23-5 win over Transylvania in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday at Wilson Field.
  • ODAC Sends Three to NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament

    Not one, not two, but three ODAC member schools will have representation in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening. Conference champion Lynchburg College, owners of the league's automatic bid, will be joined by a pair of at-large selections in Roanoke College and Washington and Lee University
  • Strong Second Half Powers Lynchburg to ODAC Men's Lacrosse Title

    Lynchburg College scored eight goals over the final 30 minutes and held Roanoke College scoreless in the fourth quarter on the way to a 13-8 triumph on Saturday evening in Lexington to lift the 2018 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament trophy. The victory marks the seventh overall title for the Hornets and their third in the last five years. LC earns the ODAC's automatic entry into the NCAA Division III Tournament field.

    There was one tie in the conference men's lacrosse standings this season, but for the first time in three years, it did not involve the top position. That is because Washington and Lee University ran thru its league slate with a 9-0 record to secure the #1 seed in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

  • Hampden-Sydney Tops ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

    Last season, Hampden-Sydney College came thru as a mild surprise in winning its first conference title since 2001 as the fourth seed. This year, the Tigers don't have the luxury of flying under the radar as they were picked first in the ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, conducted annually by the league's head coaches. H-SC collected seven first place votes on the way to 77 points. Lynchburg College garnered two top nods and 72 overall tallies. Washington and Lee University picked up the remaining first place vote, but its 64 points are just one clear of fourth place Roanoke College.
  • Washington and Lee's McCabe to be Named President of USILA

    The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) has announced that Washington and Lee Head Coach Gene McCabe will be appointed as president of the organization at the annual Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) convention in Baltimore.
