  • ODAC Announces Jopson and Berkley Award Winners
    June 06, 2016
    Eastern Mennonite University and Washington and Lee University added to their awards quota for the 2015-16 season as the ODAC Board of Directors announced the annual winners of the top scholar-athlete awards in the conference. Royals' cross country and track & field star Hannah Chappell-Dick was selected as the Marjorie Berkley Award winner, while Generals' tennis standout Michael Holt was tabbed for the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award.
  • Virginia Wesleyan's Wilson, Perry Headline ODAC Men's Tennis Awards

    Virginia Wesleyan College and Washington and Lee University each took home a pair of major honors as part of the All-ODAC Men's Tennis Awards. Marlins standout Graham Wilson and head coach Marty Perry were named the ODAC Player and Coach of the Year, respectively. The Generals Zack Ely garnered ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels, while teammate Michael Holt secured his third straight ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete award.
  • Generals Season Comes to a Close with Loss to Emory

    The Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season end in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament with a 5-0 loss to top-ranked Emory University on Saturday. The Eagles swept the doubles and then claimed straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles to close out the match.

    Just two weeks after falling to North Carolina Wesleyan at home by a score of 7-2, the Washington and Lee men's tennis team knocked off the Battling Bishops by a score of 5-4 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday at Emory University.
  • NCAA Announces Men's and Women's Tennis Team Tournament Fields

    The NCAA continued its announcements for spring national championships on Monday afternoon with the release of the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Tournament fields. Washington and Lee University will be the lone ODAC representative on either side following the Generals' triumphs in the ODAC men's and women's tennis tournaments.
  • Washington and Lee Tops Va. Wesleyan for 35th ODAC Men's Tennis Crown

    The second-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team avenged its earlier loss to Virginia Wesleyan, knocking off the top-seeded Marlins in the championship match of the 2016 ODAC Tournament at the W&L Courts on Sunday. The title is the seventh straight and 35th overall for the Generals.

  • ODAC Men's Tennis Tournament Field Announced

    A new name stands atop the ODAC Men's Tennis Tournament field enter the upcoming conference postseason as Virginia Wesleyan College owns the top seed following a 10-0 march thru its league schedule. Washington and Lee University, winners of 34 overall and six straight ODAC crowns, occupies the second seed.

    The Emory & Henry College Department of Athletics has removed the "interim tag" and named Steve Brooks its Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach, Director of Athletics Myra Sims announced Thursday.

  • Washington and Lee Heads ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll

    Six-time reigning ODAC champion Washington and Lee University opens the 2016 campaign as the favorite to capture its 35 conference men's tennis crown after topping the ODAC preseason poll with 10 first place votes and 100 total points. Virginia Wesleyan College sits seconds with 89 tallies and the remaining first place nod from the league's head coaches. Guilford College rounds out the top-three with 81 points.
