  • Smith Named BC’s First Swimming Coach

    Bridgewater College announced that Fran C. Smith has been hired as the first head coach of the women’s swim team at the college.

    Washington and Lee Interim Athletic Director Chuck O'Connell has announced the appointment of Kami Gardner as head women's swimming coach and assistant professor of physical education. Gardner will begin her duties effective July 1.

    After six years at the helm of the Randolph-Macon College swimming program, Dave Holland announced he will be stepping down as head coach of the Yellow Jackets, effective Friday, June 1.
  • SBC Names Kuhn as New Swimming Coach

    Sweet Briar Athletic Director Kelly Morrison has announced the appointment of Alexander Kuhn as head swim coach and aquatics director on Friday. Kuhn comes to Sweet Briar College after serving as the assistant coach and head recruiting coordinator at Grinnell College in Iowa for the past three years.

    For the first time in its history, Bridgewater College has established a varsity women's swim team that will compete with seven other institutions in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
  • ODAC Swimming Announces All-Conference Team

    Last season, Kim Edmonds shared the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s (ODAC) top swimming honor, but this year the accolade is all her own. The Randolph-Macon Woman’s College senior capped off her outstanding career with her second straight ODAC Swimmer of the Year award to headline the 2007 All-ODAC Swimming Team.
  • Randolph-Macon Wins ODAC Swim Title

    It had not happened in over a decade, but there was a changing of the guard at the top of the podium at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference/Atlantic States Swimming Championships last week. Randolph-Macon College came back from a 10-point deficit following the second day of action to defeat Washington & Lee University and claim its first ODAC swimming title.
  • Washington & Lee Tops Swimming Preseason Poll

    Washington & Lee University has won 17 of the 23 conference swimming titles sponsored by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). The league believes that trend isn’t about to change as the Generals top the 2006-07 ODAC Preseason Coaches Poll, predicting W&L to win it’s 14 consecutive conference crown.
