    The #ODAC continued its discussions on mental health during the Division III SAAC mental health social media campaign with former Randolph-Macon women's soccer player Madison Burns. "Maddie" was a member of the D-III SAAC for three years and served as the national SAAC chair for a year thru January 2020. She was integral to the planning and implementation of the current campaign. #BreakTheStigma #whyd3

    Two ODAC standouts earned recognition in the final set of awards announced by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) on Thursday night. Randolph-Macon forward Gabby Nelson and Washington and Lee defender Emily Roche' earned Second Team All-America laurels.

    Senior forward Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va./Halifax County) recorded three shots and had a pair of shots on goal in the first half, and senior Christina Newman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) registered four saves in the first 45 minutes, as the 13th-ranked Randolph-Macon women's soccer team saw its record-setting season come to an end in a 4-0 decision at top-ranked Messiah on Sunday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • R-MC Advances to NCAA Women's Soccer Second Round

    The R-MC Women's Soccer team kicked off their NCAA Tournament campaign with a 2-0 win over Haverford on Saturday giving the Jackets their 21st win of the season, setting a new program record. Sophomores Tyria Smalls (Fredericksburg, Va. / Massaponax) and Nicole Czyzewski (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) grabbed the goals for the Jackets with assists coming from junior Casey Kent (Fairfax, Va. / Fairfax) and senior Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va. / Halifax County) fresh off her ODAC Player of the Year award. Kent and Bauman led the way for R-MC with four shots and two shots respectively, both recording two shots on goal. The Jackets defense continued their impressive run of form over the course of the season keeping their 15th clean sheet of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Edye Carr (Clinton, N.C. / Clinton) had an impressive showing in the second half recording six saves to keep the Fords at bay. The Jackets will advance to face #1 Messiah on Sunday.
  • Randolph-Macon's Nelson, Howell Lead All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards

    ODAC champion Randolph-Macon College earned two major individual honors and Washington and Lee University garnered a league-best nine all-conference selections to headline the 2019 All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards. Randolph-Macon forward Gabby Nelson received ODAC Player of the Year laurels, while Yellow Jackets head coach Jay Howell was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year. Virginia Wesleyan University centerback Sam Crawford earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades, and Eastern Mennonite University goalkeeper Leah Wenger was named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information directors.

    Nationally 14th-ranked Randolph-Macon College, winner of its 13th ODAC title on Sunday, learned of its bracket position in the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets are the ODAC's lone representative in the field.

    Sophomore goalkeeper Edye Carr (Clinton, N.C./Clinton) saved the fourth penalty kick by Virginia Wesleyan, and sophomore midfielder Maddie Bauman (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) put the final PK into the top right corner of the net as 14th-ranked and top-seeded Randolph-Macon claimed its 13th ODAC Women's Soccer Championship after playing to a scoreless tie with the third-seeded Marlins on Sunday afternoon.

  • ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament | 9-Team Bracket Determined

    Randolph-Macon's return to the top of the ODAC standings has been a gradual process since appearing in the last of its 15 conference championship games in 1998, but the nationally 15th-ranked Yellow Jackets are poised to add to that history as unbeaten R-MC seeks its 13th league crown as the #1 seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament. Washington and Lee, ranked #17 by D3soccer.com, is positioned second in the nine-team tournament field. Virginia Wesleyan enters as third seed outright, but tiebreakers were needed to determined the fourth seed and the final quarterfinal host. Bridgewater and Roanoke each finished with 21 standings points in the final league table. The two squads played to a scoreless draw in the regular season, sending the stalemate to the second step of the league's tiebreaking protocol. In a comparison of victories against common opponents in ODAC play, the Eagles came out a few points clear of the Maroons to earn the coveted fourth position. Roanoke, as the fifth seed, will travel to Bridgewater for their quarterfinal showdown.

    The University of Lynchburg is expected to retool and remain on top of the conference in 2019. as the conference's head coaches as the Hornets sit atop the ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. Lynchburg collected 166 total points including 10 first place votes. Virginia Wesleyan University and Bridgewater College are separated by just three points for second place with 149 and 146 markers, respectively. They cleaned up the remaining first place votes with each earning two top nods.
