2010-11 ODAC Swimmers of the Week

  • TRACILYN BABINGTON, Randolph-Macon, Freshman

    Babington, a freshman from Hillsboro, Ohio, earns her second straight ODAC weekly honor after helping the Yellow Jackets to a 140-122 win over Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Babington placed first in each of four events in which she competed on Saturday. She opened the meet with a relay win in the 400-yard medley (4:13.96). Babington then broke the Randolph-Macon College record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.50 for her first individual win of the day, which also set an ODAC seasonal top time. Babington picked up another individual win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.14) and finished the day as part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:46.26).

    Babington, a freshman from Hillsboro, Ohio, broke a Prothro Natatorium pool (Sweet Briar) record that had stood since 1984 with a time of 1:16.89 in the 100-meter breaststroke (pool in short course meters). She was one of two Yellow Jackets to pick up four wins on the day. Babington also took individual wins in the 50-meter freestyle (28.95) and the 400-meter breaststroke (2:06.95) before winning the 200-freestyle relay.
  • JOCELYN CASSADA, Washington and Lee, Junior

    Cassada, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., earns her second weekly honor of the season. Cassada swam in four events against Gettysburg, claiming wins in three events, while swimming exhibition in the final relay. She finished tops in the 100-yard backstroke with an ODAC seasonal-best time of 1:01.87. She went on to claim the other backstroke event, winning the 200-yard back in a time of 2:16.79. Cassada also swam a leg on the 200-yard medley relay team, helping the squad to a first-place finish (1:54.82). She was also part of the 200-yard free relay that recorded a time of 1:46.48 while swimming exhibition.

    Salvati, a junior from Roselle Park, N.J., swam in five events during the three-day TCNJ Invitational over the weekend. She recorded two second-place finishes in the 400 IM (4:47.16) and 200 back (2:11.82), while taking seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.32. She was also a part of two relays, helping the 200 medley relay to a third-place finish (1:53.62) and the 400 medley relay to a fourth-place finish (4:10.61).

    Buckley, a junior from Springfield, Va., was a part of seven first place finishes at the Yellow Jacket Invitational this weekend. She claimed individual victories in the 50-yard (25.14), 100-yard (54.67) and 200-yard (2:01.37) freestyle events. She also swam a leg on four winning relays including the 200-yard (1:42.87), 400-yard (3:49.03) and 800-yard (8:22.20) freestyle relays as well as the 400-yard medley relay (4:14.27). Buckley's times in the 50 and 100-yard free marked ODAC bests so far this season. Her 200-yard free time is second in the conference seasonal ranks.

    Fredericks, a junior from Yorktown, Va., swam in three events during a dual meet with Sweet Briar on Friday. She recorded first-place finishes in the 100 back (1:10.86) and 100 free (1:02.25), and was a member of the 200 free relay that broke a Sweet Briar pool record that had stood since 1984 (1:53.06) while swimming exhibition. Each of her individual times ranks inside the ODAC's top-5 for the season when converted into yards from short-course meters, which is the distance of the Sweet Briar pool.

    Crowther, a freshman from Burgess, Va., turned in a record-setting performance in Saturday’s 115-74 victory over the visiting Greensboro Pride. Crowther broke the 50-yard freestyle record (29.08) and broke her own 100-yard backstroke record (1:14.22) by two seconds. The Burgess, Va. native also swam the lead leg of Bridgewater’s record setting 200-yard medley relay which touched the pad in a time of 2:18.07.
  • JOCELYN CASSADA, Washington and Lee, Junior

    Cassada, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., swam in seven events during two meets over the weekend, recording two first, one second, three third and a sixth-place finish. Against Transylvania (10/29), Cassada swam to top finishes in the 200 medley relay (1:54.91) and 100 back (1:02.84), while also recording a third-place finish in the 200 back (2:17.53). At the Centre College Invitational, she swam in four events, recording a second-place finish in the 100 back (1:02.75), third-place finishes in the 200 back (2:16.57) and 200 medley relay (1:55.97) and a sixth-place finish in the 400 free relay (3:51.72).
  • LAUREN KASOFF, Washington and Lee, Freshman

    Kasoff, a freshman from Owings Mills, Md., swam in eight events over two meets during the weekend, recording five first-place, two second-place and one third-place finish. Kasoff led the W&L women against Mary Washington with two first-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.71) and 200-yard IM (2:16.18). Also swam the 200-yard fly, finishing third (2:15.95) while helping the 200-yard medley relay squad to a second-place finish (1:54.12). At the ODAC relays, she swam in four events, recording three first-place finishes. She helped the 3x50-yard butterfly relay (1:25.56), 100-yard dolphin-kick relay (57.54) and 3x100-yard medley relay (3:16.32) to top finishes, while finishing in second place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:56.93).
