  • Washington and Lee Tabs Spalding to Men's Cross Country Post

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced the appointment of Brandon Spalding as head men's cross country and assistant men's track & field coach effective July 1. Spalding, a 2009 graduate from Bridgewater College, comes to W&L from Rhodes College, where he served as an assistant men's and women's cross country and assistant men's and women's track & field coach for the last two years.
  • ODAC/StellarOne Fall Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2012 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of seven fall sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the fourth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • BC's Mills, LC's Stanton Earn Cross Country All-American Honors

    Bridgewater College senior Olivia Mills and Lynchburg College junior Cody Stanton both finished inside the top-35 in their respective races to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. The duo leads an ODAC contingent that included eight individuals and the LC men's team.
  • Lynchburg Wins Third Straight Men's Cross Country Regional Title

    Lynchburg College captured its third straight men's cross country regional title on Saturday as ODAC schools were among those competing at the 2012 South/Souteast Regionals hosted by Emory University. The Hornets earned an automatic team bid to the NCAA Championships, while four men and four women automatically qualified as individual competitors.
  • BC's Mills, LC's Stanton Win ODAC Cross Country Titles

    Lynchburg and Washington and Lee split the 2012 ODAC Cross Country Championship races on Saturday. The Hornets came out on top in the men's 8K race, while the Generals earned #1 billing through the women's 6K chase. LC's Cody Stanton and BC's Olivia Mills (both pictured) won the individual crowns. It's the second straight win for Mills.

    Bridgewater men's and women's cross country coach, Brian Flynn, previews his teams coming into the 2012 season. His women's runners were tabbed #1 in the ODAC preseason poll, while the Eagles' men were selected second by the league's coaches.
  • Lynchburg Tops ODAC Men's Cross Country Poll

    Lynchburg collected eight first place votes on the way to 98 poll points to lead the 2012 ODAC Men’s Cross Country Preseason Poll. Bridgewater sits second with 86 tallies, including a pair of top nods, followed by Roanoke with 71 points. Guilford received the remaining first place vote as part of 69 points in the annual coaches' survey.
  • Bridgewater Heads ODAC Women's Cross Country Poll

    Bridgewater collected nine first place votes and 81 total points to stand atop the 2012 ODAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee secured the remaining top nod on the way to 72 tallies, and Virginia Wesleyan rounds out the top three with 55 points in the annual coaches' survey.
