ODAC Athletes of the Week | Cross Country

FOREST, Va. --- ODAC teams and athletes further ramped up their preparation for the postseason despite just two events on the league schedule. There were several impressive times posted. This weeks' ODAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week are Virginia Wesleyan junior Skyler Lattuca and Washington and Lee sophomore Sara Stephenson.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Skyler Lattuca | Virginia Wesleyan | Jr.
Lattuca, a junior from Middle Island, N.Y., picks up his fourth overall and second straight ODAC Runner of the Week following a strong outing at the CNU Cross Country Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University. Lattuca won the men's eight-kilometer race with a time of 25:57.73. He topped the listing by nearly 13 seconds in a field of 54 runners largely populated by Division III institutions. His time on Saturday is well off his season-best mark of 25:12.40, but still ranks inside the ODAC top-10 for the season.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Sara Stephenson | Washington and Lee | So.
Stephenson, a sophomore from Weston, Mass., earns her second ODAC weekly honor after putting together a very strong showing at the Royals Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. Stephenson was the top NCAA Division III finisher in a massive field of 541 runners dominated by Division I and II competitors. She completed the five-kilometer course 49th overall at 18:38.00 powered by a 5:59.8 pace. At the 2.3-kilometer split, Stephenson sat 135th in the middle of the pack, but passed 86 runners over the final half of the course. He time is the top 5K time in the ODAC this season.
