Bridgewater Wins ODAC Football Play of the Week Award

FOREST, Va. --- Week four of the ODAC Football Play of the Week fan poll came down to the final minutes, giving us our second extremely tight finish of the season.  Bridgewater College, which led early on only to see Emory & Henry College take the lead, made a late push to win for the first time in 2014.

After forcing a Bridgewater punt early in the fourth quarter, Apprentice School went back on offense with a chance to take the lead as the Eagles held on to a slim 18-16 advantage. Quarterback Drew Lavender took a three-step drop and Darrick Gore jumped the route and sprinted 20 yards to the endzone to put the Eagles up two scores at a 25-16 tally.

Even though just three games were played over the past week, play viewership remained high with over 450 total views over the past two days.  Bridgewater earned 47.56-percent of the votes, narrowly edging Emory & Henry (46.34%) at the wire.
