PLAY 1: GUILFORD AT BRIDGEWATER

PLAY 2: HAMPDEN-SYDNEY AT EMORY & HENRY

Description: With less than three minutes left and Guilford clinging to a 16-13 lead, Austen Thompson and Matt Pawlowski connected for the points the Quakers' needed to come away with a win.  Thompson flattened out to snare Pawlowski's pass behind two Bridgewater defenders, helping the Quakers up their lead to 23-13 with 2:23 to play. The Eagles answered with a touchdown to make it 23-20, but left just 10 seconds in the game and used all of its timeouts. The touchdown capped a record setting day for Thompson, a senior who set personal standards for catches (13) and receiving yards (111). (only one angle available)   Description: Hampden-Sydney fell behind 21-0 in the first and 21-7 at halftime at Emory & Henry, but the Tigers' offense found its footing in the second half.  Tight end Mel Savarese and quarterback Edgar Moore were big parts of those efforts.  Savarese fought off his E&H defender to haul in Moore's strike from eight yards out, tying the game 21-all mid-way thru the third quarter.  Savarese finished the day with four catches, while Moore threw for 467 yards and two touchdowns after shaking off three first-half interceptions. Hampden-Sydney would go on to win, 31-28.

PLAY 3: SHENANDOAH VS. CATHOLIC

PLAY 4: WASHINGTON AND LEE AT RANDOLPH-MACON

Description: Shenandoah twice saw double-digit leads turn into one-score edges in its matchup with Catholic.  After the Hornets went up by 11 points for the third time in the contest, running back Kye Hopkins put the game out of reach.  Hopkins slid from the right to the left of SU's line and ran out of the grasp of one would-be tackler on the way to a 65-yard touchdown run and a 34-17 lead with 3:02 to play.  That would mark the game's final score.  Hopkins finished with 90 yards rushing on the day.   Description: Sometimes it takes good defense to give the offense time to get rolling, and that's exactly what Washington and Lee needed against Randolph-Macon.  W&L picked off three R-MC passes, with none more impressive than this effort by Michael Shields.  Shields stepped in front of the would-be pass-catcher, leaped and pulled in the throw with one hand before returning it 27-yards to the R-MC 40.  Two plays later, W&L took its first lead at 14-10 on the way to a 21-17 victory.
