Emory & Henry Wins First ODAC Football Play of the Week Fan Poll

FOREST, Va. --- Emory & Henry College recovered from an early deficit in the eight week of the ODAC Football Play of the Week fan poll, securing its first win of the season.  Tre'von Lightfoot's interception, which doubled as a finalist in the D3football.com weekly pool, garnered the most recognition from five nominees this past week.

Emory & Henry led 29-24 late in the fourth quarter, but the Wasps found themselves in danger of going behind with Catholic knocking on the doorstep.  From 23-yards out, the Cardinals threw for the end zone, but cornerback Tre'von Lightfoot made a play on the back-shoulder throw, intercepting it and returning it 98-yards for a 37-24 lead with 3:02 to play. The 98-yard return is the longest for an E&H player since 1950.

This week's five nominees were viewed more than 1,200 times on YouTube and the ODAC website.  Lightfoot's 98-yard pick-six received 49.45-percent of the vote, ringing th bell ahead of Washington and Lee's 39.87-percent.
