ODAC Winter and Spring Sportsmanship Teams Announced
August 20, 2015The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship. -
Jon Howard Named Lynchburg College Men's Golf Head Coach
June 04, 2015The Lynchburg College athletic department announced the hiring of Jon Howard Tuesday as the new head men's golf coach. Former head coach Chip Walton stepped away from the program after four seasons to assume the role of Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Services at the College. -
Guilford Finishes Eighth at NCAA Men's Golf Championships
May 15, 2015Tournament co-host Guilford College shot a 301 on Friday to occupy solo eighth place at the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. The Quakers finished with a four-round 1,195 at 43-over-par, 22 strokes behind champion Methodist University. -
Generals Place 14th at NCAA Women's Golf Championships
May 15, 2015The seventh-ranked Washington and Lee women's golf team finished in 14th-place out of 21 teams at the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship at the Mission Inn Resort on Friday. -
Guilford, H-SC's Burt Enter NCAA Men's Golf Tournament
May 04, 2015Familiar faces will represent the ODAC at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Tournament following the release of this year's participants by the NCAA on Monday evening. Guilford College enters as the owner of the conference's automatic entry, while Hampden-Sydney College senior Brian Burt will participate as an individual for the second straight year. -
Washington and Lee Selected to NCAA Women's Golf Tournament Field
May 04, 2015Washington and Lee University is set to become the first team from the ODAC to represent the conference at the NCAA Division III Womens' Golf Championships, as announced by the NCAA Monday evening. The Generals were one of 21 teams and six individuals to earn a trip to the national field, which will consist of 111 total golfers. -
Guilford Captures Fifth Straight ODAC Men's Golf Title
April 21, 2015Guilford lived up to its nationally 12th-ranked billing at the ODAC Men's Golf Championships, posting team rounds of 293 and 288 to finish at five-over-par 581 and capture its fifth straight and 15th overall conference title by 14 strokes over Washington and Lee. Quakers registered the top-three individual finishes, with Drew Thompson earning medalist honors. -
Washington and Lee Wins First ODAC Women's Golf Title
April 21, 2015Washington and Lee University posted rounds of 320 and 316 to finish at 636 and 15 strokes clear of second place to claim its first ODAC women's golf championship on Tuesday. Bridgewater College finished second at 651, powered by individual medalist Christina Herbert, who carded two rounds of 73 in the weather-shortened conference tournament at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C. -
Guilford's Thompson Highlights ODAC Men's Golf Awards
April 20, 2015Guilford's Drew Thompson highlights the ODAC Men's Golf Awards as he was tabbed the ODAC Golfer of the Year. Shenandoah mentor Scott Singhass earned Jack Jensen Coach of the Year accolades, while Virginia Wesleyan's Evan Cox took home ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition. Kirby Struhar secured the Ted Keller Sportsman Award for Randolph-Macon for the second year running, and Washington and Lee's Conley Hurst earned the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete award. -
Washington and Lee's Hall Headlines ODAC Women's Golf Awards
April 20, 2015Washington and Lee University freshman Mary-Frances Hall took home two honors to headline the 2015 ODAC Women's Golf Awards, earning the ODAC Player and Rookie of the Year accolades. Bridgewater College coach John Rogers and Generals' mentor Pete Gyscek were tabbed ODAC Co-Coaches of the Year, while the Eagles' Andrea Walker secured ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete recognition. -
Weather Alters Play for Second Day at ODAC Golf Championships
April 20, 2015Weather continues to affect the progress of the 2015 ODAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships, although today did not result in a total loss of play. Competition has been suspended for the day and will resume on Tuesday morning, with weather forecasted to clear for a full day's worth of golf at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C. -
ODAC Golf Championships Set to Begin on Sunday
April 18, 2015ODAC golfers are set to return to Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C., for the second straight year as they embark on the 2015 ODAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships. Each of the conference’s nine men’s programs and six women’s squads will take to the rolling hills in the Greater Hickory area for 54 holes apiece. -

Generals' Holloway Wins TaylorMade/Adidas Intercollegiate
March 11, 2015A Washington and Lee women's golfer won medalist honors for the second straight tournament over the weekend, leading a strong showing from ODAC athletes at the TaylorMade/Adidas Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio Wesleyan. Caroline Holloway finished at 12-over-par 156 to win by one stroke over Bridgewater rookie Christina Herbert at the Dataw Island Club Morgan River Course. -

March 02, 2015Washington and Lee University standout Mary-Frances Hall is quickly making a name for herself in NCAA Division III women's golf. The Generals' freshman won for the second time in her rookie campaign, besting the field at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate, hosted by Berry College at the Lake View Course in Pine Mountain, Ga. -
ODAC Women's Golfers Ready for Spring Season
February 28, 2015In the two-plus years since the ODAC added women's golf to its sports sponsorship, play has elevated each season. That trend remained true this past fall with ODAC squads showing well at several tournaments, leading to much anticipation as teams prepare to open play in the spring campaign. -
Guilford Tops ODAC Men's Golf Coaches' Poll
February 24, 2015Four-time reigning conference champion Guilford College earned eight first place votes on the way to 80 total points to lead the 2015 ODAC Men’s Golf Coaches’ Poll. Washington and Lee University is second with 74 tallies and the remaining two top nods. Hampden-Sydney College sits third with 62 points. -

Hampden-Sydney Wins VSGA State Intercollegiate Golf Championship
September 30, 2014Hampden-Sydney College fired a two-round total of 618 to finish two strokes clear of Averett University and Roanoke College atop the team standings at the 2014 VSGA State Intercollegiate men's golf tournament. Brian Burt led the way individually, finishing third at four-over-par 146 (77-71) on the 6,878-yard par-72 layout at the Olde Mill Resort in Laurel Fork, Va. -
Guilford, Palmer Win Gordin Classic Golf Tournament
September 30, 2014Guilford College won its first men's golf tournament of the season and Quakers' sophomore Ty Palmer claimed his first college medalist honor Tuesday at the Gordin Classic. The victory marks the Quakers' fifth Gordin Classic title and their first since 2010. GC defeated second-place Rhodes College by 17 strokes in the team standings. Palmer, who shot 10-under, won by nine strokes.
