  • Hampden-Sydney Tabs McMichael to Lead Soccer Program
    March 06, 2015
    Hampden-Sydney College Director of Athletics Richard Epperson announced the hiring of Ian McMichael as the new soccer head coach on Friday. Coach McMichael comes to H-SC after spending the past two seasons at NCAA Division II institution Pfeiffer University, where he served as an assistant coach for one season before being named Associate Head Coach and Assistant to the Athletic Director.
  • Laux Returns to Randolph-Macon, Resigns as Hampden-Sydney Head Coach

    Josh Laux is set to return to his alma mater as the now former Hampden-Sydney College men's soccer coach has resigned at H-SC to take over the reigns at Randolph-Macon College. Laux spent 11 seasons guiding the Tigers soccer program, becoming the winningest head coach in program history during his tenure. Laux, a former three-time All-ODAC choice, graduated from R-MC in 2001.
  • ODAC Fall Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the fall sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship. Seventy-five athletes were honored this season.
  • Roanoke's Marc Dinkel Named NSCAA Second Team All-American

    Roanoke College midfielder Marc Dinkel tops the ODAC's group of men's soccer award winners from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as he became the 11th overall Maroon and first since 2012 to earn All-American laurels. Dinkel was selected to the second team. He was joined by seven other standouts who earned All-South Atlantic Region honors.
  • Lynchburg Falls to CNU in NCAA Men's Soccer First Round

    The Lynchburg College men's soccer team fought until the end against Christopher Newport University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but ultimately fell on a late second-half goal Saturday night. The Hornets, who fell to Christopher Newport, 5-1, earlier in the season, responded in the first round of the tournament by holding the Captains scoreless for the first 45 minutes as Cory Budka (pictured) made two saves for LC.
  • Roanoke's Dinkel, Pflugrad Lead ODAC Men's Soccer Awards

    Roanoke took home two major honors as part of the All-ODAC Men's Soccer Awards. Forward Marc Dinkel earned ODAC Player of the Year accolades, while Maroons' mentor Ryan Pflugrad received ODAC Coach of the Year laurels. Hampden-Sydney forward Ryan Turner was named the ODAC Rookie of the Year, and Eastern Mennonite goalkeeper Andrew Yoder was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Scholar-Athlete.
  • Lynchburg Men's Soccer to Enters NCAA Division III Tournament

    Lynchburg College will be representing the ODAC in three NCAA Division III Tournaments over the next week, including men's soccer. LC, one of 61 teams in the national bracket, will travel for its first round and possible second round contests this coming weekend.
  • Lynchburg Tops Roanoke to Claim ODAC Men's Soccer Title

    Josh Hinkle scored the only goal of the game in the second half to help the Lynchburg College men's soccer team defeat Roanoke College 1-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship game on Saturday. The second-seeded Hornets defeated the top-seeded Maroons to advance to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010.

  • ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament Field Set

    Roanoke College enters the 2014 ODAC Men’s Soccer Tournament as the #1 seed for the third time in the last four years. Lynchburg College locked up the second seed with its win on Tuesday evening. Joining RC and LC as quarterfinal hosts are third-seeded Virginia Wesleyan College and fourth-seeded Hampden-Sydney College.

    Randolph College goalkeeper C.J. Stevens earned the ODAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week as he helped the WildCats to a pair of wins in tournament action. He was named MVP for his efforts, which included a save of a penalty kick to preserve a 1-0 Randolph win over PSU-Abington. Get to know a little more about C.J. in this week's ODAC Spotlight.

  • Hampden-Sydney's Josh Laux Becomes Tigers' Soccer All-Time Wins Leader

    With Saturday's 1-0 victory over Marymount University, Hampden-Sydney Soccer Head Coach Josh Laux became the all-time winningest coach in team history. He surpassed Bert Molinary's 94 wins and currently sits with 96 wins heading into Friday's match against Southern Virginia.

  • Virginia Wesleyan Slotted atop the ODAC Men's Soccer Poll

    Four teams earned first place consideration and five picked up 90 or more points in the 2014 ODAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, with Virginia Wesleyan receiving the most of both to sit atop the annual coach's survey. The Marlins earned eight first place votes towards 115 total points, while Lynchburg garnered 105 tallies to sit second. Roanoke is slotted third with 98 points and two top nods. Randolph, with 93 points, and Washington and Lee, with 91 points, each received one first place vote to round out the top-five.
