  • W&L Men's Tennis Falls to Emory
    May 12, 2012
    The 20th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to second-ranked Emory University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped the Generals to 16-5 overall. Emory advances to the third round where it will meet either Whitman or North Carolina Wesleyan.
  • W&L Recovers to Defeat UT-Tyler

    The 20th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team recovered from a 3-0 hole following doubles play to record a 5-3 victory over the University of Texas-Tyler in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday afternoon at Emory University. W&L moves on to face host Emory at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Three Generals Tabbed for Individual Play

    The NCAA released its selections for the 2012 Division III Singles and Doubles Championships to be held on May 24-26 at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. Junior Hayden White (bottom left), senior Lauren Lukas (top left) and freshman Sonja Meighan will represent Washington and Lee and the ODAC on the men's and women's sides of the bracket.
  • W&L Men's Tennis Enters NCAA Play

    The NCAA announced the bracket for the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Team Tournament on Monday afternoon. Washington and Lee University will join its women's program in Atlanta at Emory University for regional play. The Generals open with the University of Texas-Tyler in the first round, the ninth-ranked team from the ITA's West Region.
  • Ceril, White Top Men's Tennis Awards

    R-MC's Mederick Ceril and W&L's Hayden White shared ODAC Player of the Year honors in the 2012 All-ODAC Men's Tennis Awards. Ceril was also tabbed the top rookie, while White was chosen the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete. R-MC's Wayne Vaughn was named the Coach of the Year, and his Jackets were recognized with the Team Sportsmanship Award.
  • W&L Men's Tennis Wins ODAC Crown

    Top-seeded Washington and Lee produced a 5-0 victory over second-seeded Bridgewater to claim the 2012 Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's tennis championship on Sunday morning at Randolph-Macon. The Generals earn the ODAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
  • ODAC Men's Tennis Seeds Set
    April 17, 2012
    Defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee University enters the 2012 ODAC Men’s Tennis Tournament as the top seed. The Generals are tied for 19th in the latest ITA NCAA Division III National Poll and fifth in the Atlantic South Region. Randolph-Macon College will serve as the host for the semifinal and championship rounds.

    Washington and Lee University secured nine first place votes and 81 total points to lead the 2012 ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll. Bridgewater College picked up the remaining top nod on the way to 66 tallies. Just one point separates Guilford College (57) from Hampden-Sydney College (56) in the battle for third.
  • VWC Names New Director of Tennis

    Tom Drabczyk, a two-time All-ODAC honoree as a Marlins' player, has been named the new Director of Tennis at Virginia Wesleyan College, as announced by the school on Wednesday. A former VWC assistant coach, Drabczyk by Ben Hoskyn, a 2008 VWC grad, as his assistant coach. Former director, Edward Kahn, will remain with the program as a volunteer assistant.
  • Perry Pegged to Lead Bridgewater Tennis

    Martin Perry, three-time NCAA D-III National Coach of the Year, has been named the new head coach of the Bridgewater men’s and women’s tennis programs on Monday. Perry has spent the last eight-plus years as the head men’s and women’s coach at national power, The University of Chicago.
  • Hale to Head Emory & Henry Men's Tennis

    Emory & Henry College has selected Dustin Hale as the Wasps’ new men’s tennis coach, Director of Athletics Myra Sims announced Wednesday. Hale, who spent the last two years at N.C. Wesleyan, takes over the reins from Josh Parmenter, who will focus his efforts as E&H’s women’s tennis coach after overseeing both programs in the spring of 2011.
