  • W&L Falls to N.C. Wesleyan in NCAA First Round

    The 21st-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team fell to 23rd-ranked North Carolina Wesleyan by a score of 5-3 in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Emory University.
  • Generals’ Tennis to Represent the ODAC in NCAA Tournaments

    Washington and Lee University will represent the ODAC in both the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team Tournaments, set to begin play May 10-12 in a series of first, second and third round matches. The Generals earned their spots in both tournaments via the ODAC’s automatic bids after winning the conference postseason tourneys.
  • Generals' White is Men's Tennis Player of the Year for Second Time

    Washington and Lee standout Hayden White picked up a pair of honors for the second straight year as part of the 2013 ODAC Men's Tennis awards. White was named both the ODAC Player of the Year and the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second straight season. Generals' mentor David Detwiler was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, while Virginia Wesleyan newcomer Graham Wilson earned the ODAC Rookie of the Year accolade.
  • Generals Win 32nd ODAC Men's Tennis Championship

    The 23rd-ranked and top-seeded Washington and Lee men's tennis team defeated second-seeded Bridgewater College in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship match for the second straight season by a score of 5-0 on Sunday at Virginia Wesleyan College.

    Washington and Lee University holds down the top seed in the 2013 ODAC Men's Tennis Tournament, as the Generals go in search of their fourth straight and 32nd overall conference crown. Ranked 23rd nationally, W&L (14-5 overall, 10-0 ODAC) is followed by Bridgewater College (12-7, 9-1) as the second seed for the second year in a row.

  • Washington and Lee Headlines ODAC Men's Tennis Poll

    Washington and Lee University received 10 first place votes and 100 total points to headline the 2013 ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll. Bridgewater College picked up the remaining top consideration and 86 tallies, and Guilford College earned 75 points to sit in third in the annual survey of the league's head coaches.
  • Randolph-Macon Names Bruce Myers Director of Tennis
    October 04, 2012
    Randolph-Macon College Director of Athletics Jeff Burns announced Tuesday the hiring of 1993 graduate Bruce Myers as the new Director of Tennis for the Yellow Jackets. Myers is the first full-time tennis coach in school history and will oversee both the men's and women's teams and will handle all operations of R-MC's Tennis Facility.
  • Lynchburg Names Bruce Sibley Men's and Women's Tennis Head Coach
    August 24, 2012
    The Lynchburg College athletic department announced Friday the hiring of Bruce Sibley as the head men's and women's tennis coach. Sibley played collegiately for Lynchburg College his freshman season before transferring to Division I LaSalle University to resume his playing career.
