  • ODAC Winter and Spring Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    August 20, 2015
    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • Bridgewater Names Lis Schulz New Softball Head Coach
    June 10, 2015
    Bridgewater has announced the hiring of Elisabeth "Lis" Schulz as the College's new head softball coach. Schulz spent the past three seasons as the assistant coach at Geneva College in Pennsylvania. She called pitches and coordinated pitching conditioning, coached first base and was heavily involved with recruiting and practice planning.
  • Toth's Two-Run Homer Powers R-MC Past Salem
    May 09, 2015
    Freshman Skylar Toth smacked a two-run homer to spark a four-run top of the 12th as the Randolph-Macon softball team posted an 8-6 victory over Salem in an elimination game at the Newport News Regional in the NCAA Tournament.
  • Marlins NCAA Run Ends with Second Loss to Salisbury

    No. 4 ranked Salisbury University scored twice in the top of the sixth inning Saturday and then held off Virginia Wesleyan College's 10th-ranked Marlins to post a 3-2 victory in an NCAA Division III softball regional championship game at Salisbury
  • Ford Delivers Two Hits in R-MC's One-Run Loss to CNU

    Junior Sierra Ford went 2 for 4 with a run as the Randolph-Macon softball team dropped a 3-2 decision in the second round of the Newport News Regional in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Saturday afternoon at Captains Park.
  • Randolph-Macon Topples Ramapo in Nine Innings
    May 08, 2015
    Randolph-Macon competed in its first ever NCAA Division III Softball Tournament game today, beating No. 23 nationally ranked Ramapo, 8-6, in nine innings at CNU. The Yellow Jackets knocked out 15 hits while the Roadrunners had 10. R-MC broke through on a single to left field by Katie Woody in the top of the ninth that scored Sierra Ford as well as Madison Gilman.
  • Virginia Wesleyan Eliminates McDaniel, Falls to Salisbury

    Hitting that helped to steer Virginia Wesleyan to a decisive 11-1 five-inning victory over McDaniel in an NCAA Division III tournament opener on Friday, eluded the Marlins in the second game in a 4-0 loss to regional host Salisbury, giving the Sea Gulls an edge heading into Saturday's showdown.
  • Randolph-Macon, Virginia Wesleyan Enter NCAA Softball Tournament

    The ODAC will be represented by a pair of teams in the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament as Virginia Wesleyan College is set to join Randolph-Macon College in the 62-team field announced by the NCAA on Monday morning. Both the Marlins and Yellow Jackets will travel for their first set of games.
  • Marlins Lead ODAC Softball Awards with Three Major Honors

    VWC hauled in three major awards to headline the 2015 ODAC Softball Awards following a vote of the league's head coaches. Marlins outfielder Courtney Bogan earned ODAC Player of the Year honors, while Kristina Karagiorgis received ODAC Pitcher of the Year recognition. VWC mentor Brandon Elliott was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year. R-MC lefty Nelda Bagley took home ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels, while GC outfielder Laura Hall as the ODAC/Va. Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.
  • Randolph-Macon Wins First ODAC Softball Championship

    Nelda Bagley registered her fourth complete game of the tournament and Harley Jones hit her second homerun in three days as Randolph-Macon captured its first ODAC softball championship with a 7-1 victory over Lynchburg on Sunday at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va. The Yellow Jackets also earn an automatic bid into the NCAA D-III Softball Tournament.
  • Eight-Team Field Set for ODAC Softball Tournament

    Virginia Wesleyan College (28-4 overall, 18-2 ODAC) enters the 2015 ODAC Softball Tournament as the top seed for the fourth straight season as the Marlins look to collect their fourth league trophy in the last five years. VWC is one of eight teams headed to the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va., for the league's annual postseason event.

She shared the national spotlight with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Deven DuCharme, who was named the National Hitter of the Week

  • Eastern Mennonite's Lucas Named NFCA National Hitter of the Week

    Eastern Mennonite softball player Aislinn Lucas (Grottoes, Va./Fort Defiance) has been named Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Hitter of the Week. The junior outfielder hit .722 over six games, extending her personal hitting streak to 12 games, to earn the award.

  • Virginia Wesleyan Tops ODAC Softball Preaseason Poll

    Two-time defending ODAC champion Virginia Wesleyan College earned nine first place votes and 99 total points to stand atop the 2015 ODAC Softball Preseason Poll. Lynchburg College secured second place with 92 points and the remaining two top nods from the league's head coaches. Randolph-Macon College rounds out the top three with 80 tallies.
