    Lynchburg College won its first NCAA Division III Tournament game on Friday evening in the Freeman Center at Christopher Newport University, dispatching Catholic University, 69-64, to move on to the second round. The Hornets will square off with the host Captains on Saturday night following CNU's 98-56 triumph over the College of Staten Island.
  • Roanoke's Beahm Named First Team Academic All-American

    Roanoke College forward Cary Beahm took home her second straight Academic All-America Award as presented by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). Beahm moved up the 2015-16 third team and earned recognition as a First Team Academic All-American in a national vote of athletic communication professionals.

  • Lynchburg Joins Guilford in NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament

    Guilford College will not be the only team representing the ODAC in the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament as Lynchburg College earned an at-large bid into the field of 64 in Monday's selection show on www.ncaa.com. This is the second straight year the Quakers and Hornets carry the ODAC banner on the national stage.

    Guilford College's Anais Weatherly claimed the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament's Most Outstanding Player honor as the Quakers earned the school's fifth ODAC Tournament title with a Sunday afternoon victory over top-seeded Lynchburg College, 59-53.

Randolph-Macon College center Kelly Williams secured ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, while Roanoke College forward Cary Beahm garnered ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete laurels from the conference’s sports information directors.

    For the second consecutive year, the conference's tiebreaking procedures got a hefty workout in determining the ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament pairings, with four deadlocks dotting the standings. Lynchburg College was involved in one such scenario, coming out on top in a comparison with Guilford College to secure the top seed in next week's conference postseason event.

  • Guilford Leads ODAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll

    Four teams earned at least one first place vote in the annual ODAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll conducted by the league's head coaches. Guilford College stands atop the field, receiving nine top nods on the way to 116 total points. Reigning conference champion Lynchburg College sits second with 107 tallies including one first place vote, while Washington and Lee University and Emory & Henry College are separated by just six points at 98 and 92, respectively. They split the remaining two first place considerations.
