  • Three Earn Women's Basketball Academic All-America Recognition by CoSIDA

    For what is believed the first time ever in ODAC history, three women's basketball players took home Academic All-America Awards on Wednesday afternoon. Bridgewater College guard Briana Moore and Washington and Lee University guard Emily Perszyk were tabbed to the first team, while Randolph-Macon College center Kelly Williams earned a spot on the second team in the national process conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

    The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team (23-7) saw its historical season come to a close Saturday evening as No. 12 Messiah College earned a 62-49 win in the NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round. With the victory, the Falcons advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2013.

    The Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball 2017-18 campaign came to a close Saturday night in NCAA Tournament Second Round action against Christopher Newport 84-58 in Crenshaw Gymnasium. R-MC closes the season with a host of accolades, including ODAC Tournament Champions and the ODAC's Player of the Year for sophomore Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy).
  • Wasps Set Program Record with NCAA First Round Win Over Roger Williams

    The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team (23-6) made history Friday evening as it defeated Roger Williams University (23-6) in the First Round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament by a 66-55 score. It was the first-ever NCAA Tournament game for Emory & Henry, and with the victory, the Wasps set a new school record for wins in a season at 23.

    Randolph-Macon College scored a 67-56 victory over the University of Valley Forge on Friday evening in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. Sophomore center Kelly Williams notched 17 points and 17 rebounds, becoming the ODAC's new leader in single-season points (715) and strengthening her grip on the conference's single-season rebounding record (512).

  • Randolph-Macon Claims ODAC Women's Basketball Championship

    Junior Jayla Wade (Newport News, Va. / Heritage) made a baseline drive to break a 68-68 tie with 24 seconds remaining in the game to propel Randolph-Macon to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship in Salem, Va. on Sunday afternoon. It is R-MC's ninth ODAC Tournament Championship and first since 2014. It also avenged an earlier loss to the Wasps 84-77 on February 3 in Crenshaw Gym.
  • R-MC's Williams, E&H's Crutchfield Lead ODAC Women’s Basketball Awards

    Randolph-Macon College center Kelly Williams and Emory & Henry College head coach Anne Crutchfield headline the 2018 All-ODAC Women's Basketball Awards, announced by the ODAC on Thursday morning. Williams was named the ODAC Player of the Year, while Crutchfield received ODAC Coach of the Year honors. Washington and Lee University garnered the remaining two laurels with guard Katie Popp earning ODAC Rookie of the Year distinction and fellow backcourt mate Emily Perszyk featuring as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

    Randolph-Macon Head Coach Carroll LaHaye won her 600th game Saturday afternoon in action against the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's number one team, Lynchburg, 71-59 at Turner Gymnasium. LaHaye, in her 36th season at the helm of Randolph-Macon, is just the 59th coach in the NCAA across all divisions to reach the milestone of 600 wins. LaHaye has spent her entire career coaching the Yellow Jackets.

  • Eastern Mennonite Leads ODAC Women's Basketball Poll
    November 02, 2017
    Two points separate four different positions at the top of the ODAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll following a survey of the league's head coaches. Eastern Mennonite University received seven first place votes on the way to 112 total points to sit clear of second place Lynchburg College by just two points. The Hornets' 110-point outlay features the remaining five top nods. Emory & Henry College and Randolph-Macon College are also separated by just two markers for third position with the Wasps taking up third position with 91 tallies.
