  • Kelly Williams, Randolph-Macon, Fr., Center
    February 20, 2017
    Williams, a freshman from Garysburg, N.C., finished off her first regular season in Ashland with three double-doubles to give her an ODAC-best and nationally third-ranked 21 entering ODAC Tournament play. Williams opened with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and 6-of-8 from the stripe to go with 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and seven blocked shots in a 74-67 setback to Eastern Mennonite. She followed with 18 points on 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line in an 82-44 win over non-conference Gallaudet. She notched 13 boards, two assists, two steals, and seven more blocked shots. Williams capped her week with the first 30-point game of her career in a 77-63 win at Hollins. She was 13-of-18 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line on the way to 30 points. She added 12 rebounds and a blocked shot to give her 15 rejections for the week. On the season, Williams leads the ODAC in field goal shooting (59.9%), rebounds (324), and rebounding average (13.0). She is second in blocked shots (63), fourth in points scored (460) and fifth in scoring average (18.4).
  • Cary Beahm, Roanoke, Sr., Forward

    Beahm, a senior from Dendron, Va., put together a strong week in leading Roanoke to a pair of conference wins. Twice Beahm poured in 23 points as the Maroons earned a 70-54 road win at Randolph and a 75-51 home triumph over Shenandoah. Against the WildCats, Beahm added 15 rebounds (including six offensive) to her 23 points, which included a 9-of-12 showing from the foul line. She added a steal and a blocked shot and didn't turn the ball over. Versus Shenandoah, Beahm came up one board shy of her second double-double with nine boards to go with 23 markers. She was 10-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe. For the season, Beahm is third in the ODAC in both scoring (19.3 ppg) and rebounding (9.2 rpg) average. She is #1 in field goals made (166), second in free throws made (108), and third in free throw percentage (85.0%).
  • Kaitlyn Lehan, Bridgewater, Jr., Center
    February 06, 2017
    Lehan, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., put together a superior low-post week in the Eagles' 1-1 showing over a pair of conference games. Lehan averaged 23.0 points, 16.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 7.5 blocked shots per game while shooting 54.3-percent from the field and 88.9-percent from the foul line. In a 74-66 win over Shenandoah, Lehan dropped in a career-best 30 points on 12-of-16 from the field and 6-of-6 from the stripe. She added a career-high 17 rebounds, two assits, and blocked eight shots. Lehan was back at it in a 74-69 setback to Randolph as she posted 16 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and seven more blocked shots. For the season, Lehan leads the ODAC with 87 blocked shots, which is 40 more than the next closest player. She is averaging 9.0 points per game and is sixth in rebounding at 8.5 boards per contest.
  • Jessica Lam, Bridgewater, Sr., Guard

    Lam, a senior from Elkton, Va., picks up her second straight and third overall weekly honor of the season after scoring 66 points over two games last week, both conference road wins for the Eagles. In a 76-62 victory at Randolph-Macon, Lam set the Bridgewater scoring record for the second time this season with 41 points on 13-of-20 shooting and 11-of-14 from the field. She drilled four three-pointers on the way to scoring the most points in the ODAC since Eastern Mennonite's Jess Rheinheimer dropped 41 in 2014-15. Lam added eight rebounds and two steals against the Yellow Jackets. She was back at it again in the Eagles 63-58 triumph at Hollins. Lam scored 25 points on 9-of-14 from the field, which included a 3-of-4 showing from deep. She connected on 4-of-6 from the stripe while chipping in three boards and three steals. For the season, Lam leads the ODAC in points scored (421) and scoring average (22.2). She's also #1 in field goals made (139) and free throws made (121) while ranking third in three-point shooting (41.5%).

    January 23, 2017
    Lam, a senior from Elkton, Va., put together a strong week in the Eagles 1-1 showing, averaging 27.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 45-percent from the field. In an 84-74 triumph over crosstown rival Eastern Mennonite, Lam exploded for 31 points and eight rebounds. She was 7-of-17 from the field and canned 15-of-16 shots from the foul line. She also hit a pair of three-pointers. She hit two more from long distance on the way to 24 points in an 84-75 setback against Washington and Lee. She was 7-of-14 from the field and 8-of-12 from the stripe, chipping in seven boards, two steals, and two assists as well. For the season, Lam leads in the ODAC in points scored (355), scoring average (20.9), field goals made (117), and free throws made (106).
  • Amanda Gerni, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Guard

    Gerni, a sophomore from Moyock, N.C., etched her name in the ODAC record books for the third time this season in helping Virginia Wesleyan to a pair of conference wins last week. She opened with eight points and two rebounds in the Marlins 91-82 triumph at Randolph-Macon. It was in an 87-49 win over Hollins that Gerni exploded for double figures from beyond the arc for the third time this season. Following a ceremony in which former Marlin Nancy Kelly's jersey was retired, Gerni registered the most points in a game this season with 38 markers on 12-of-22 shooting. She nailed 11-of-20 from downtown, giving her the ODAC record for three-pointers made in a game after twice tying the previous standard of 10 earlier this season. She chipped in seven rebounds to the winning effort. For the season, Gerni leads the ODAC with 41 made three-pointers in 100 tries, good enough for 41.0-percent from beyond the arc, which ranks fourth. She is averaging 11.3 points per game.

    Williams, a freshman from Garysburg, N.C., picks up her second straight and third ODAC weekly award of the season after helping Randolph-Macon rattle off two wins to move its current streak to three-straight. Williams averaged 22.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 5.0 blocked shots while shooting 65.4-percent (17-of-26) from the field in the two games. She opened with 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting with 16 rebounds, six blocked shots, and two steals. Six of her rebounds came via the offensive glass. Williams corralled eight offensive boards on the way to 13 rebounds in a 62-58 win at Emory & Henry. She scored a season-high 25 points on 8-of-12 from the field and 9-of-13 from the foul line. She chipped in four blocked shots and two more steals. For the season, Williams is sixth in the ODAC in points scored (199) and scoring average (16.6). She leads in the ODAC in rebounds (153), offensive rebounds (70), and rebounding average (12.8), second in blocked shots (27), and fifth in field goals made (78) and field goal shooting (52.7%).

    Williams, a freshman from Garysburg, N.C., picked up her second weeky award of the season after averaging a double-double and leading Randolph-Macon to a 3-1 stretch over the holiday season. Williams helped R-MC to wins over Edgewood (75-51) and Wheaton (Mass.) (77-67) before Christmas, posting nine points and eight rebounds against Edgewood before pouring in 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting with eight more boards versus Wheaton. She blocked seven shots combined over those two outings, including five against Edgewood. Leading up to the new year, Williams registered 10 points and 11 rebounds with three blocked shots in a 50-41 setback to Elizabethtown. She followed that with her ODAC-leading seventh double-double on 17 points and 15 board with three assists and two more blocked shots in a 64-49 triumph over Franklin & Marshall. Six of her rebounds came via the offensive glass, giving her 17 offensive boards over the two games. For the season, Williams is seventh in the ODAC in scoring average (15.4 ppg) and overall points scored (154) and leads the conference in rebounding average (12.4 rpg) and total rebounds (124).
  • Emily Perszyk, Washington and Lee, Jr., Guard

    Perszyk, a junior from Greendale, Wis., helped the Generals to a 1-1 showing at the Hilton Scranton Poinsettia Classic. In a 69-54 setback to nationally third-ranked and host University of Scranton, Perszyk registered 14 points on 6-of-13 from the field. She added in two rebounds, two assists and three steals. Perszyk helped the Generals rebound in the second game of the tourney with a 71-41 win over Maine-Presque Isle. She went 5-of-9 from the field including 4-of-5 from downtown and 3-of-3 from the stripe on the way to 17 points. She chipped in three assists and four steals, giving her seven swipes in the two games. For the season, Perszyk is fifth in the ODAC in scoring average (16.4) and sixth in overall points scored (131). He is #1 in the conference in free throw shooting (90.9%), having buried 30-of-33 from the line. She is also fifth in three-pointers made (15) and sixth in three-point percentage (37.5%).

    Lam, a senior from Elkton, Va., continued her strong scoring run to start the season with 77 points scored for an average of 25.7 per game in the Eagles 2-1 week. In a 91-89 overtime setback to Ferrum, Lam played all 45 minutes and scored a Bridgewater program-record 36 points on 13-of-20 from the field. She hit a pair of three-pointers and was 8-of-13 from the foul line to go with six rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Lam followed that with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting in an 84-66 win at Hood. She chipped in five rebounds, six assists and four steals. Lam capped her week by joining the BC 1,000-point club with 19 points in a 79-63 win over Apprentice School. She notched four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in that outing. For the season, Lam leads in the ODAC in scoring average (23.2), total points scored (209), field goals made (72), and free throw made (56). She is fifth in the league in field goal shooting (52.2%).
  • Anais Weatherly, Guilford, Sr., Forward

    Weatherly, a senior from Winston-Salem, N.C., helped the Quakers continue their early season dominance with three more victories last week for a 7-0 record, which marks the best start in program history. Weatherly posted a pair of double-doubles, beginning with 16 points and 11 boards in a 77-48 win over Meredith. She added five assists, four steals, and a blocked shot. She upped the ante in a 79-43 triumph at N.C. Wesleyan, going 8-for-10 from the field on the way to 18 points. She chipped in three boards, five assists and five steals. Weatherly finished the week with yet another performance that flirted with triple-double territory in an 84-66 triumph over Bridgewater. She dropped in 22 points with 11 rebounds and came one steal shy of a triple-double with nine. She added in three assists. For the season, Weatherly is fourth in the ODAC in scoring (17.1 ppg) and points (120). She leads the league in steals (42) and is second in field goals made (56) and third in field goal percentage (54.9). Weatherly is second all-time at Guilford in career steals.
  • Jayla Harris, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Guard

    Harris, a sophomore from Fredericksburg, Va., averaged 27.5 points over two wins for the Marlins last weekend. Harris opened her week with a career-best 35-point explosion to lead Virginia Wesleyan to a 65-63 win over Ferrum. She was 11-of-20 from the field including 6-of-10 from deep. She also made 7-of-9 from the stripe. She added five rebounds and four assists. Her 35 points are the most scored by a Marlin since Amy Simpson hit for 35 on January 23, 1986. Harris followed with a 20-point outing in a 60-33 victory at Hollins to begin ODAC play. She was 6-of-12 from the field and hit 6-of-8 from beyond the arc while making both of her foul shots. She chipped in eight rebounds and four more assists. For the season, Harris is second in the ODAC in scoring at 21.2 points per game. She is first in three-pointers made (16) and third in three-point percentage (42.1), and has made the second-most field goals (35) and free throws (20).

    Williams, a freshman from Garyburg, N.C., kicked off her collegiate career with three straight double-doubles to help Randolph-Macon to a 2-1 week. Included in that set of contests was a 70-66 win over nationally 11th-ranked Albright College. In that game, Williams went 7-of-11 from the field and 5-of-5 from the stripe for 19 points to go with 10 rebounds. She added three assists and four steals in 32 minutes of action. Williams began her first season with 12 points and 11 boards (five offensive) in a 69-55 setback at Marymount (Va.). She capped her week with 13 points and 14 rebounds (seven offensive) in a 93-55 triumph over Greensboro. Williams earned R-MC Tip-Off Classic MOP honors for her efforts.
