  • ODAC Winter and Spring Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • Shenandoah Baseball Eliminated from NCAA Tournament by Frostburg State

    No. 8/9 Shenandoah University saw its baseball season come to an end Friday afternoon with a 7-2 loss to No. 2/2 Frostburg State on day three of the 2015 NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by Washington & Jefferson.
  • Heidelberg Shuts Out Shenandoah in Baseball Regional Play

    Heidelberg pitcher Adam Manner sent Shenandoah University into the elimination bracket of the 2015 NCAA Mideast Regional by throwing a complete game two-hitter in a 5-0 victory over the Hornets Thursday evening.
  • Shenandoah Opens Regional Play with Win Over Adrian
    May 13, 2015
    No. 8/9 Shenandoah University opened up the 2015 NCAA Mideast Regional Wednesday with a 5-1 victory over Adrian (Mich.). The Hornets (28-8-1) kept their record perfect in opening games of NCAA Regionals, now at 7-0, with the win over Adrian (33-11).
  • Shenandoah Set to Travel for NCAA Baseball Regional Play

    Shenandoah University will be the lone squad to represent the ODAC in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on www.ncaa.com Monday morning. The Hornets will take to the road for regional play as they embark on their second straight trip to the national tournament.
  • W&L Baseball Coach Jeff Stickley to Enter Phased Retirement

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that Head Baseball Coach Jeff Stickley has decided to begin phased retirement. Stickley could remain with the University for up to four years as an Associate Professor of Physical Education, but will no longer be coaching the baseball team.
  • Shenandoah Wins Baseball Crown, Claims School's First ODAC Title

    The No. 8/10 Shenandoah baseball team claimed the university's first-ever ODAC Championship with a 4-2 victory over Virginia Wesleyan Sunday at Lynchburg City Stadium. Darrell Thompson threw a complete game six-hitter for the Hornets (27-8-1) in winner take all championship game of the tournament. VWC (19-14) forced that final contest with a 9-8 victory in the first game of the day.
  • VWC's Bach, Greiser Headline ODAC Baseball Awards

    Virginia Wesleyan took home two major honors as part of the 2015 ODAC Baseball Awards. Zach Bach earned ODAC Player of the Year laurels, while Sean Greiser was tabbed the ODAC Pitcher of the Year. Eastern Mennonite mentor Ben Spotts received ODAC Coach of the Year recognition, while Randolph-Macon's Rick Spiers was selected as the ODAC Rookie of the Year. Hampden-Sydney's Jeff Gray was named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.

  • Six Teams Set for ODAC Baseball Tournament

    Shenandoah University (22-6-1 overall, 16-4 in ODAC play) secured the top seed in the ODAC Baseball Tournament for the second straight year, winning 16 league games as six schools prepare for four days of play at City Stadium in Lynchburg. Competition begins on Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m.

  • Shenandoah Headlines ODAC Baseball Preseason Poll

    Shenandoah University opens its third year of baseball in the ODAC with high expectations as the Hornets top the 2015 ODAC Baseball Preseason Poll. SU secured 98 total points and nine first place votes from the league's coaches on the way to its No. 1 ranking. Randolph-Macon College sits second with 85 points, while Bridgewater College rounds out the top three with 82 tallies and the remaining two first place nods.
  • Virginia Wesleyan Tabs Francis as Baseball Head Coach

    An extensive search to find a leader for Virginia Wesleyan College's proud baseball program has produced an individual who has already experienced the Marlins' success. Chris Francis, a VWC assistant coach in a five-year span when the Marlins won three Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III championship tournament three times, has been named the program's head coach.
