  • SBC Names Struble Interim Head Coach, Fabulich Resigns
    January 16, 2015
    Former assistant coach Eric Struble has been named the interim head soccer coach at Sweet Briar College, replacing Kevin Fabulich. Struble will organize and coach the team's non-traditional practice sessions in the spring, along with continuing recruiting efforts for the remainder of the 2014-15 school year.Fabulich, who led the Vixen program for the past eight years, has accepted the position of Executive Director at Central Virginia United Soccer Club in Lynchburg, Va.
  • ODAC Fall Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the fall sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship. Seventy-five athletes were honored this season.
  • Lynchburg's Bosco Named Division III Player of Year by the NSCAA

    Lynchburg College senior forward Angela Bosco was named the Division III National Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of the America (NSCAA). Bosco led the ODAC in points (76), goals scored (30) and assists (16), helping lead the Hornets to the NCAA Division III national title and an undefeated record (27-0-1).
  • Lynchburg's Olsen Named National Coach of the Year

    Lynchburg College women's soccer coach Dr. Todd Olsen was named the Division III National Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Olsen led his Hornets to the school's first team national championship and an undefeated record (27-0-1).
  • LC's Bosco and Dupuy Lead ODAC NSCAA Award Winners

    The Lynchburg College attacking tandem of Angela Bosco and Dessi Dupuy headline the ODAC's group of women's soccer award winners from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as the pair were named All-Americans. Bosco earned a spot on the first team, while Dupuy was tabbed to the second team. They were joined by eight other standouts who earned All-South Atlantic Region honors.
  • NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! Lynchburg Wins NCAA Women's Soccer Title

    Lynchburg College and Williams College played to a scoreless draw thru 110 minutes of action on Saturday evening at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. Penalty were left to determine the national champion. The Ephs missed their second and fifth attempts, while the Hornets converted each of their first four to win the shootout, 4-3, a secure the program's first national title!
  • Lynchburg Defeats Illinois Wesleyan, Headed to NCAA Title Game

    Lynchburg College advanced to its first ever women's soccer national championship game after defeating Illinois Wesleyan University 2-1 in Friday's NCAA Division III semifinal. LC fell behind just 19-seconds into the game, but Angela Bosco knotted the game midway thru the half. That setup Kelley Smith's winner early in the second half.

  • Samantha Bagherpour Earns Lynchburg's First NCAA Elite 89 Award

    Sophomore Samantha Bagherpour made Lynchburg College history by winning the school's first ELITE 89 award at the NCAA Division III Soccer Championship Banquet on Thursday night. The Elite 89 award is presented at all 89 NCAA championship events to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average participating at the finals site.
  • LC's Deacon, SU's Burris Named Capital One Academic All-Americans

    Lynchburg College defender Natalie Deacon and Shenandoah University midfielder Danielle Burris earned Capital One Academic All-American honors, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Deacon was tabbed to the second team, while Burris took up position on the third team.
  • Lynchburg Advances Past Messiah on Penalty Kicks to NCAA Semifinals

    The #1-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team needed a spark in the second half to down #2 Messiah College in the regional final on Sunday afternoon. The Hornets got that spark, and then some, to defeat Messiah and move on to the Final Four for the first time since 2009. This marks the second time the women's soccer team has made the Final Four.
  • LC Defeats Montclair St. to Earn Spot in NCAA Women's Soccer Quarterfinals

    The #1-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team got a pair of goals from senior Dessi Dupuy, one early and one late, to down Montclair State University in the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The win advances the Hornets to the fourth round where they will take on Messiah College for a spot in the Final Four in Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Lynchburg Advances in NCAA Women's Soccer with Win Over Stevenson

    The top-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeated Stevenson University (MD) 4-1 Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament to advance into the round of 16.
  • LC Advances in NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament with Win Over Salem

    The Lynchburg College women's soccer team got on the scoreboard early and cruised to a 4-0 win over Salem College (NC) Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Hornets will square off with Stevenson University at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Mustangs defeated Christopher Newort, 1-0, on Saturday night.
  • Bosco Leads Three Special ODAC Honors for Lynchburg Women's Soccer

    Lynchburg earned three of the four special individual honors as part of the All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards. Forward Angela Bosco was named the ODAC Player of the Year, while head coach Dr. Todd Olsen was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year. Defender Emily Maxwell received ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels. Shenandoah midfielder Danielle Burris was selected the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Scholar-Athlete.
  • Lynchburg Women's Soccer Set for NCAA Division III National Stage

    Sixty-four teams are set to begin play in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament, with Lynchburg College representing the ODAC. The Hornets, one of our unbeaten teams in the bracket, were selected to host a first and second round pod this coming weekend.
  • Dupuy's Header Lifts LC to Fifth Straight ODAC Women's Soccer Title

    Senior forward Dessi Dupuy headed in the game's only goal Saturday to give the Lynchburg College women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Washington and Lee University in the finals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. It is the fifth-straight conference title for the Hornets and the 13th in program history.

    Lynchburg College enters the 2014 ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament as the top seed in the eight-team field with an unscathed conference mark of 12-0 for the second-consecutive season, not to mention a 19-0 overall record. Washington and Lee University owns the second seed, while Bridgewater College and Virginia Wesleyan College join LC and W&L as quarterfinal hosts via the third and fourth seeds, respectively.

  • Lynchburg's Dupuy Sets ODAC Scoring Record in Win Over Bridgewater

    Lynchburg College forward Dessi Dupuy notched her third goal of the season on Saturday, helping the Hornets defeat Bridgewater College, 5-0, in the ODAC opener for both squads. This particular tally for the LC standout had a little more meaning to it than others as it marked her 80th career goal, making her the ODAC's all-time career goals scored leader.
