  • Generals Name Michael Dager Women's Cross Country Head Coach

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced the appointment of Michael Dager as head women's cross country and assistant women's track & field coach effective July 1. Dager comes to W&L from Gwynedd Mercy University, where he has served as the head men's and women's track & field coach since 2007 and the head men's and women's cross country coach since 2009.
  • ODAC Announces Jopson and Berkley Award Winners

    One school received its record 19th season-ending individual honor while the other earned just its second such prize as the ODAC Board of Directors announced its top two individual student-athlete awards on Monday. Washington and Lee University cross country and track star Annelise Madison was recognized as the Marjorie Berkley Award recipient, while Guilford College baseball standout John Macon Smith took home the Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Award.
  • Generals' Schultz Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its 2013 fall postgraduate scholarship winners and Washington and Lee's Lauren Schultz '13 was among the 29 Division I, II and III women that were recognized. The selection of Schultz gives the Generals 18 scholarship winners in the last 11 years and 37 W&L athletes have been honored since 1970.
  • Bridgewater Men Win South/Southeast Regional Meet

    Bridgewater College won the men's competition at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional cross country meet on Saturday, becoming the fourth straight ODAC men's squad to hoist the title. BC's men automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships, along with four men and three women from conference schools as individual qualifiers.

    The ODAC cross country programs took to The Manor Golf Club in Farmville, Va., for the 2013 ODAC Cross Country Championships. Bridgewater College took home both team titles. BC's Kaylee Kubisiak won the women's crown, marking the third straight individual win for the Eagles. Guilford College's Andris Goncarovs claimed the men's title.
  • Bridgewater Sweeps ODAC Cross Country Championships

    BC ran its way to both the men's and women's cross country titles at the ODAC Cross Country Championships. BC coach Brian Flynn was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year in both sports, while fellow Eagle Kaylee Kubisiak and GC's Andris Goncarovs claimed the individual crowns and ODAC Runner of the Year honors.

    Most of the ODAC schools kicked off their 2013 seasons at the ODAC Preview Meet on Friday, August 30, hosted by Hampden-Sydney College at the The Manor Course in Farmville, Va. It will also serve as the site of the ODAC Championships on Nov. 2. Watch for previews on both the men's and women's ranks as well as coverage from the race.

    Washington and Lee University picked up seven first place votes and 77 total points on the way to leading the 2013 ODAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll. The Generals are followed closely by Bridgewater College, which collected the remaining three top nods and 75 tallies. Eastern Mennonite University holds down the third position with 65 points, while Lynchburg College is just six points back in fourth in the annual survey of the league's head coaches.

    Bridgewater College received eight first place votes and 98 total points en route to leading the rankings in the 2013 ODAC Men's Cross Country Preseason Poll. Lynchburg College collected the remaining three top nods as part of a 92-point showing to place second. Guilford College is four points clear of Washington and Lee University for third with 74 tallies in the annual survey of the league's head coaches.
