  • Emory & Henry Names Bayes as its Next Volleyball Head Coach
    June 25, 2014
    Devyn Bayes has been selected to be the next volleyball head coach at Emory & Henry College, Director of Athletics Myra Sims announced Wednesday. Bayes returns to her native Southwest Virginia after spending the past two seasons as the volleyball graduate assistant coach at the University of Arkansas-Monticello.
  • Randolph Promotes Matthews to Volleyball Interim Head Coach

    Randolph has promoted Kara Matthews from assistant volleyball coach to the interim head position, effective July 1. A two-year assistant coach for the WildCat program, Matthews helped guide the 2013 squad to its best record since 1997 serving as the top assistant to Johnathan Willis.
  • ODAC Fall and Winter Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2013-14 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of the fall and winter sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the fifth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • W&L's Boles Earns AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Recogntion

    Washington and Lee University outside hitter M.A. Boles received her first All-American accolade from the AVCA, collecting honorable mention honors. The two-time ODAC Player of the Year became the conference's all-time kills leader in addition to earning first team all-region status.
  • W&L Volleyball Suffers a Tight 3-0 Loss to Berry in NCAA Play

    The Washington and Lee volleyball team suffered a 25-21, 25-23, 27-25 loss to Berry in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at Emory University.
  • Washington and Lee's Boles Headlines ODAC Volleyball Awards

    Washington and Lee outside hitter M.A. Boles was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year for the second time as part of the All-ODAC volleyball awards. Generals' mentor Bryan Snyder was named the ODAC Coach of the Year, while Emory & Henry outside hitter Tristen Pennington earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades. Virginia Wesleyan's Tempe Martens was selected as the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information directors.
  • Washington and Lee Heads to Emory for NCAA Volleyball Regional Play

    Washington and Lee University, winners of the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship, received the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament. The tournament bracket was released this morning and the Generals will travel to Atlanta, Ga. and Emory University for regional play. W&L will square off against Berry College in its opening match on Friday.
  • Washington and Lee Wins Second Straight ODAC Volleyball Title

    Washington and Lee University bested Lynchburg College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22), on Saturday afternoon in Lexington, securing the Generals' second straight and ODAC record 14th conference volleyball title. W&L also earned the ODAC's automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.

  • Washington and Lee Picked Atop ODAC Volleyball Poll

    Washington and Lee University picked up seven first place votes and 114 total points as the Generals lead the 2013 ODAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. Randolph-Macon College received a pair of top nods and 109 tallies on the way to placing second, while Lynchburg College holds down third in the annual coaches' survey after securing three first place votes and 96 poll points.
