    November 22, 2021
    Week 12 saw ODAC basketball teams begin some conference play in addition to strong competition at non-conference tournaments. Swimming also took part in both competitive dual meets and the first invitational events of the schedule. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards for Monday, November 22, include (pictured from left): Jessica Jennings from Virginia Wesleyan women's basketball, Devin Bateman and Brynn Martinson from Washington and Lee men's and women's swimming, and Buzz Anthony from Randolph-Macon men's basketball.

    Week 11 of the conference season saw a full slate of basketball games competed with all teams now active. Swimming also featured throughout the conference with a combination of dual and multi-team events. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards for Monday, November 15, include (pictured from left): Unoma Aguolu from Hollins basketball, Susanna Price and Ethan Brewer from Roanoke women's and men's swimming, and Kasey Draper from Roanoke men's basketball.

    Week 10 features the first report for men's and women's basketball this season with games starting last week, joining men's and women's swimming in regular action. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards for Monday, November 8, include (pictured from left): Logan Deal from Roanoke men's swimming, Brii Redfearn from Eastern Mennonite women's basketball, Lily Mullens from RC women's swimming, and Miles Mallory from Randolph-Macon men's basketball.

    Basketball was the first ODAC sport in action in January following a long layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now it returns to its traditional footprint with the 2021-22 season kicking off on Friday, November 5. Randolph-Macon College men's basketball finished off last season as the #1 team in NCAA Division III and they start the new campaign in that same spot along with topping the ODAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll.

    With the start of the 2021-22 academic and athletic campaigns quickly approaching, ODAC members and their student-athletes continue to haul in major postseason honors from the 2020-21 season. Conference student-athlete distinction and influence extends well beyond their athletic arenas with several taking home Academic All-America recognition from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
