2013 Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

  • Cameron Dabir, Washington and Lee, So., Attack

    Dabir, a sophomore from Grosse Point Farms, Mich., helped lead Washington and Lee to a pair of ODAC victories during the week by totaling eight goals and two assists, to go along with three ground balls. In a 14-3 win over Shenandoah on Wednesday, he led the team with four goals and three ground balls. He then posted a team-best six points on four goals and two assists in an 11-10 road victory over Hampden-Sydney on Saturday. For the season, Dabir is the team's second-leading scorer with 45 points on 31 goals and 14 assists. He has collected 90 career points over his first two seasons of play.
  • Richard Lachlan, Roanoke, Sr., Attack

    Lachlan, a senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, provided late-game heroics for a second straight week, helping lead the Maroons to a pair of conference wins. Lachlan opened the week with a goal and two assists in a 16-5 road win at Guilford. He had three groundballs in that contest. He followed up with three goals in a 9-8 win over 12th-ranked Washington and Lee. His final goal of the day, which proved to be the game's last goal, broke an 8-8 tie with 5:09 to play. For the season, Lachlan leads the ODAC in goals scored with 43. He is fourth in points with 54.

    Lachlan, a senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, notched 11 points in helped the Maroons two three victories, including two ODAC contests and one against fourth-ranked Stevenson. Against the Mustangs, Lachlan beat the keeper four times and assisted on another tally in RC's 14-13 triumph. He came back with three goals and another helper in a 22-3 conference win over Bridgewater. Over the weekend, Lachlan found the back of the net on two straight goals, including the game-tying score with 2:29 to play, as the Maroons' recovered from a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter with five unanswered goals to defeat Hampden-Sydney, 12-11. For the season, Lachlan leads the ODAC with 39 goals scored towards 48 total points, which ranks third in the league.
  • Spencer Parsons, Roanoke, Jr., Midfielder

    Parsons, a junior from Columbus, Ohio, helped lead the Maroons to a 2-0 week. He opened with two goals and an assist in a 22-5 triumph against Shenandoah. He also picked up four groundballs in that contest. Parsons followed with three goals in a 9-8 win at Lynchburg. His final tally broke an 8-8 tie with 1:28 to play third period, which proved to be the game-winner as neither team could crack either defense in the last stanza. For the season, Parsons has notched 12 points on seven goals and five assists.
  • Derek Sweet, Lynchburg, Sr., Attack
    April 01, 2013
    Sweet, a senior from Duxbury, Mass., helped the Hornets to a 1-1 record against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents last week. In a 9-8 overtime win over #9 Washington and Lee, Sweet scored twice, including the tally that sent the game into overtime with a little over three minutes to play. Over the weekend, Sweet again forced extra time as the eighth-ranked Hornets locked horns with #5 Stevenson. Sweet's goal was his fourth of the game and came with only 39-seconds to play in regular, but the Mustangs went on to win with a man-up tally in OT. Sweet, who added two assists in that contest, has racked up 21 points on 14 goals and seven assists this season.

    Lachlan, a senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, helped the Maroons to a pair of wins, including a 17-12 ODAC-victory over Virginia Wesleyan. He opened the week with three goals and a pair of groundballs in a 12-3 triumph over Whittier. On Saturday against the Marlins, Lachlan scored five times, while picking up three loose balls. The eight goals move him into second all-time on the Roanoke scoring lists. Lachlan currently leads the ODAC with 24 goals scored and is tied for third with 29 points.
  • Pat Ohrem, Lynchburg, Sr., Attack

    Ohrem, a senior from Ridgfield, Conn., helped lead the sixth-ranked Hornets to a pair of wins last week, including a 25-6 conference triumph over Guilford. Ohrem had a goal and an assist in a tight 5-4 win over McDaniel College. He also picked up four groundballs. He followed that with three goals and a helper in LC's win at Guilford. Ohrem now has 14 points on 11 goals and three assists this season.
  • Robert Fox, Randolph-Macon, Fr., Midfielder
    March 11, 2013
    Fox, a freshman from Annapolis, Md., helped Randolph-Macon to a 1-1 week. In a 16-13 win over Aurora, Fox scored six goals and dished out an assist for a career-best seven points. He also picked up 13 ground balls and went 11-of-19 on face-off opportunities. In a 15-13 loss to York, Fox had one goal and one assist while picking up four more loose balls and winning three more face-offs. For the season, Fox has 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists. He also owns a 53.6 face-off percentage (30-of-56).
  • Jess Hawthorne, Hampden-Sydney, Sr., Midfielder
    March 04, 2013
    Hawthorne, a senior from Richmond, Va., helped the Tigers to a pair of non-conference wins last week. He scored six goals on 12 shots in two games. On Wednesday at Catholic University, he scored twice on the way to a 14-5 win. On Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University, Hawthorne netted four goals including the game-winner and the insurance tally with one second left on the shot clock to clinch the game with 1:13 to go in the 9-7 win. For the season, Hawthorne has scored eight points, all coming off goals.
  • Garrett Paglia, Washington and Lee, So., Midfielder

    Paglia, a sophomore from Forest Hill, Md., helped lead the Generals to a pair of road wins over Top-10 opponents last week by totaling five goals across the two games. In a 7-6 double-overtime win over top-ranked Salisbury on Wednesday, Paglia scored a career-high four goals and picked up four ground balls. In an 8-7 win over 10th-ranked Denison on Sunday, Paglia scored just one goal, but it was the game-winner with 2:04 left in the contest. For the season, Paglia has tallied seven points on seven goals.
  • Vin Curran, Lynchburg, Sr., Midfielder
    February 18, 2013
    Curran, a senior from Hull, Mass., was an instrumental part in the Hornets 13-12 upset over two-time defending national champion and #1-ranked Salisbury University. Curran handled the majority of the faceoffs for the first time in his career, and won 60% of them against last year's first team All-American faceoff man. In addition he scooped up four groundballs. He also scored two goals, with the second one coming with 15 seconds remaining which proved to be the game-winner as caused a turnover to prevent a potential game-tying goal. The victory marked the first for LC over Salisbury since 2003.
